Thats exactly right, and I own a bunch of guns. Someone kicks my door down getting hit on the head will be the least of their concerns. In the United States I have the right to protect my family and property. Thank God the US isn't like Australia or England.

Hollywood doesn't care. It took 'em a whole 5 years to start making money off of 9/11.

The only "movie" that should ever be done would be a documentary for those trying to understand.

I'll bet that there are kids every bit as mentally or emotionally screwed up as Seung-hui on every campus in America. We've probably all been in a class with someone who seemed odd or creepy. That's just part of college life.

What I want to know is what drove this kid from shy loner to mass murderer. How does that happen?

He wasn't in a mental hospital, he was referred to counseling and was on medication for depression I believe.

Honestly i feel bad for him, he needed help and never got it. Why he had to take everyone down, somethin in his head said now they will notice. Scary, to think about it really.

Kent State will be holding a memorial here at noon tomorrow. I will check it out for a little bit on my way to class. There is a pretty good amount of support here, which impresses me.

It shouldn't, considering the murder of students by the National Guard at Kent State in 1970.

The Kent State community can empathize with what's happening at Va. Tech.

                        Take care,

Man, it's starting to dawn on me that there are still students that have not been identified. there were 32 confirmed dead, but everywhere i see, i only see up to 25 names.

People only get kicked out of school for cheating, failing, and not paying.

                                Re: Shooting at Virginia Tech

Instead of gun control, what we need to worry about are our mental health policies.

One of his professors wanted to get him help, but you can't force someone to get help. She even told the police to keep track of him because he was exhibiting strange behavior. But there's really not much anyone can realistically do. I believe he was removed from one of his classes, but he can't be kicked out of school or anything like that obviously.

We need to be allowed to get these people help... someone with mental issues is not going to be able to realize that they need help, yet they are the ones that have to seek the help themselves. If the professor could have gotten him the help he needed instead of being told that he needed to go voluntarily, this all could have been avoided.
