Re: Whats the most you ever......

    1981 prices.

I bought tickets for an all day concert at County Stadium in Milwaukee and the gal that committed to going with me backed out at the last minute. So, every chic in our dorm knows I have an extra REO ticket. Yes, they were #1 back then.

A friend comes up to me and said that she knows you would like to with me "as friends."

I approach her the week of the show(it was on a Saturday) and she said she would love to go. However, she wasn't going to be at school, but back home in Sheboygan.

I found out what her favorite drink was, Rhine Wine,(yuck) with 7up, and bought one of those big bottles.

The ride to Sheboygan was 2.5 hours, the drive back to County Stadium was 1.5 hours, the tickets were probably $30 bucks apiece, and I bought two concert shirts for abut $15 bucks apiece. I took her back to Sheboygan that night and then I had the 2.5 hour ride home.

All that I was offered was $10 bucks for gas and I said, nah, keep it.

My friends teased me to no end that I spend probably over 100 bucks including gas on the first date to nowhere. Nothing happened when we returned to college, she went her way and I went my way.

Oh , yeah, I remember all four bands.

Michael Stanley Band- One hit wonder
    Blackfoot- Southern Fried Rock
April Wine- The Ballad, If You See Kay. and some good rockers
    REO

Maybe i'm alone on this but I refuse to spend money on girls for dates... I just trick then into comming over my place to "watch a movie"... Works everytime.

I agree with mjb though, $40 is barely dinner for two where I like to go, and I'm not going to go to a ****ty place just to stay on the "cheap" side. Not to mention that movies, bowling, mini-golf, and other first dates are on the rise price-wise as well.

Where are you guys going for less than $40 for a date? How can you even stay under that for the typical "dinner and movie" first date.

Except TJ, but we just won't touch the heifers he was dealing with at the time

I mean, GAS STATION brands! Guess they weren't worth the good stuff!
Johnny... she cooked me dinner on our first date. All the rest of the money was for the movie.

Well their hamburgers are pretty good(that's all I order from there). But mostly you're paying for the look.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
