How you like your steak cooked?

I love mine medium rare. mmmmm. A little blood to make more flavor and juicy.

Raw - Uncooked. Used in dishes like steak tartare. Steak is generally not eaten or ordered at this stage. However, it is gaining popularity with raw foodists

Rare plus - The outside is gray-brown, and the middle of the steak is mostly red and warm, with some pink. Often ordered by those that prefer medium rare and don't mind rare but worry about overcooking towards medium.

Medium rare - The steak will have a fully red, warm center. Unless specified otherwise, upscale steakhouses will generally cook to at least this level.

Well done - The meat is gray-brown throughout and slightly blackened or charred. Very often, parents will order meat well-done for their children, as they--as well as the elderly--are more susceptible to food-borne illness

Medium. Although I rarely get steaks at restaurants because they all cook them differently and never to my liking.

Yeah, I like medium, sometimes medium rare, but when I go out I always have to order medium because "medium rare" at some random restaurant is a lot more rare than medium. It's just such a crapshoot sometimes.

Kinda like what mgoblue said, if I do order one in a restaurant I'll order medium but when I cook them, medium rare.

Medium. I don't care about the inside of the meat, just as long as it's hot enough and sustains its' warmth as I'm eating it.

When I go to a steakhouse, they do a good job of keeping the steak hot for more than 2 minutes.

Used to be medium rare, but then switched to medium. Much better.

Medium for a steak. Anything more destroys the flavor, and anything less is a little too juicy to appreciate.

I prefer Medium, and unfortunately it's a rare place that will cook it right. They'll either undercook it, which I don't mind (save for the juice all over the plate) and if they overcook it too much (i.e. well done) it goes back. They may spit on the next one, but it's much better then eating a dry lump of charcoal.

I like my medium rare. I was surprised to see how many people like their steak well done. When a steak is well done all the juices and flavored has been cooked out of it.
