This heat here near Springfield, IL is just awful. It's mid-90's all day, with "heat indices" near 105!

While the AC is nice, the fact that I can't take my hyper-energetic son outside w/o risking heat stroke is a pain in the ***. Not to mention the fried food awesomeness of the State Fair is this weekend and I'll have to drop $20 for hydration alone!

Did I mention how much it sucks to water the grass as well?

I hope this crazy heat wave breaks soon, it's getting damn annoying!

EDIT: And I have to mow the lawn this weekend...I HATE mowing the lawn with this humidity. My undershirt is damn near sheer when I'm done and all the neighborhood ladies can't keep their eyes off of me!

I much prefer the "dry" heat of Colorado where I grew up. Humidity is the devil's spawn.

come down to miami where the temp is 99 and feels like 115 with 100% humidity year round. Feels like you are walking around wrapped in aluminum foil...and we like it dammit!

mow the lawn every saturday; thats fulfills my workout criteria for that day.

come down to miami where the temp is 99 and feels like 115 with 100% humidity year round. Feels like you are walking around wrapped in aluminum foil...and we like it dammit!

Try mowing your grass at 105 degrees, with the heat index between 115-120. It's just brutal, been this way all week down south. We're hoping to get some mid 90's by next week..

Alright already...you guys proved your point!

It feels unbearable to me as I grew up with a mountain climate, cold winters, dry hot summer, and a full four seasons. This humidity is killing me, no matter how much it pales to the South.

Arizona was 116 degrees, I then decided to take a two week vacation in Alaska where the hottest it's been is 72 degrees. I go back today

The last week or so it's been stinkin' hot in the Toronto area. We had a reprieve yesterday and today is a little warmer but not humid and sticky as it was last week.

Every summer seems to have a stretch where it's totally unbearable to go outside. That's the only downside to it.

Of course she grew up in Kansas, so it doesn't cool down, and she remembers when she slept outside because it was slightly coller than it was in her house because they didn't have AC... I pretty much cut and ran.
