When I went back east about 2 weeks ago, it was brutal. Plus the humidity is a killer.

It's mid 70's here, I like it that way.

Re: This Heat Is Downright Brutal

        It's gotten so bad here...

Chancellor Mitchell Lundy issued a court order that stops all school sponsored activities and sports related activities "which include physical exertion and which are conducted between the hours of 9:00a.m. and 7:00p.m. The counties covered by Lundy's order are Desoto, Tate, Panola, Yalobusha, Grenada, and Montgomery.
Basically, the high schools in these counties can't even have football practice. Game are just a few weeks away. Needless to say, some of these schools are appealing the heat ban.

It's only supposed to get to 103 degrees here for the next 7 days or so...then maybe down to 102.

Actually it's nice. You can tell the difference between 103 and 113 quite well. Nothing is worse than coming home from work at 0600 and it's still 100 degrees.

Oh....yeah definitely. Behind his house is steep. Not as bad as his neighbors...but it would make me nervous!....that and the wildfires coupled in with the earthquakes and I told my brother he's nuts!

Re: This Heat Is Downright Brutal

It is morbidly hot here on So. FL. Right now being the worst time of year. I kinda of like it though. Today I went to my local golf course at 1:00p and played 18 holes, two balls on each hole, in two and a half hours. I didn't see another person, not even the cart girl! I just wear a white dri-fit type of shirt and drape a cold wet towel around my neck and I can stay out there all day.

Plus, the a/c in my house can make snow indoors, which makes for good sleeping. I spent most of my life in CT and go back there a couple of times a year, but none of my hosts have good a/c. They're just not prepared for the heat. I end up sweating more in CT than I do in FL, lol.
