I remember I was in 7th grade, I woke up and walked downstairs to get some food, and my dad's TV was on in his office and I saw the footage of the 2nd plane hitting. It was weird going to school that day, the teachers didn't really talk about, but we watched some of the news coverage in history. I actually went to Ground Zero the next year in 8th grade as part of a school trip to visit major cities on the East Coast.

We MUST come together and realize the true enemy. We MUST fight together, as one nation, rather than sit here and fight amongst ourselves. This is what the enemy wants, and it is simply ridiculous to validate their goals.

I feel personally attacked, offended, and hurt every day that some factions of people want to kill ME and destroy MY country, simply because I am an American.

They DO want to destroy our country and I'm hoping that all doesn't come from within. We are a divided nation right now. Personally I blame every rat politician for dividing us, but that's only me.

I remember where I was on that terrifying day. I was on my bed flipping through the channels on TV and I saw it on NBC. It just made me so sad. I was only in the 7th grade and I didn't understand the magnitude of this tragic event.

Pared, I can only imagine what you as a newyorker wentthrough witnessing that probably within a few miles of you. Down here in Philadelphia we were scared ****less. Knowing what happened just a little north in NY and just a little south in washington. and then all of the federal buildings we have here in Philly. Not to mention all the historical symbols for or country that could be potential targets. Plus our 2 talllest buildings are named Liberty 1 and Liberty 2. I had friends that worked in those buildings. We are very greatful that nothing happened here, but were very upset to see what happened only 100 or so miles away.

It was Wednesday when this occurred, as I lived in Okinawa, Japan... I had an off day from school because of a strong typhoon and all I did was watch the news, wondering what was occurring in my home country.

Amen... The thing that will always stand out to me was that it was such a BEAUTIFUL day outside... Absolutely perfect. Nothing like the hell that people were experiencing.... Because of the communications problems and lack of TVs in the firm I worked for, it really wasn't until I got home that I was able to see for myself what actually happened. I had heard reports, of the Pentagon being hit, an unaccounted plane, the White House being targeted, the towers collapsing, but it didn't really hit me until I was able to finally get home that afternoon and see it for myself. And then it REALLY hit me that night, as I was able to smell the burning from Ground Zero over in my house in Brooklyn...

It was a surreal few months after that. I would walk around my neighborhood, and there were posters all over the place, of people who were missing and unaccounted for in the WTC. Seeing faces of these people, and realizing that this was a person who was loved by family and friends, who I had probably passed on the street countless times, had a definite effect on me.

I even remember the anthrax threats that started surfacing afterwards, and how that changed the way we did things... On the subway, if someone is reading a paper, and they get off the train and leave it behind, someone else will take it, saving themselves 50 cents in the process... One day I was riding to work, not long after the anthrax attacks had started, and I saw an abandoned newspaper at the same time as another guy. We both started for it, and it was like at the same time, we both had the anthrax thoughts run through our mind. Then we just left it there, and looked at each other. We didn't say anything, but we knew what the other was thinking.

I know some guys might take that as a joke and you can get a good little laugh out of it (b/c it's such an odd thing to remember), but this McDonalds never closed. EVER. To see it closing and staff shoving people out of the store was scary indeed.

LOL, my wife and I had to get used to that after we moved down here... In NY, nothing EVER closed... Down here, I went to get my kids something from McDonald's on Christmas EVE, like 5:00 in the evening... EVERYTHING was closed!!! Wendy's, Burger King, you name it!!! ALL CLOSED!!!

I don't remember if the fast food places by my house closed that day. I think the local Crown Chicken (ghetto fabulous KFC for those of you who may not know) was still open.

I was in first period religion class, just sitting around when we heard there had been some kind of accident. We turned on the TV and saw that the two towers had been hit. Then as the bell was ringing the camera flipped to some weird shot of trees and smoke coming up. As I kept watching, I realized the Pentagon had been hit... it was this erie silence on the TV as they weren't saying anything, but I knew something bad had happened and that the day was going to be awful.

I was in science class when they came in and told us the Towers had fell, for whatever reason our teacher wanted to do work instead of watch TV so we were all shocked when it happened. I'll always remember my teacher saying that their had to be explosives inside the building because the towers just don't fall.

Since we were a small catholic school we were all called into the Gym so our Principal could tell us the news... Never forget how sad everyone looked.

Also remember getting on the bus and being told we weren't allowed to speak about 9/11 because the young kids might hear us. Whatever, we talked about it anyways. Got home, and my parents were on vacation for my fathers birthday so it was only my brother and I and my Grandma.

Still remember the evening paper that came out that day. We never have an evening addition, but for 9/11 they did. Just this huge explosion of the Towers with the headline of ATTACK.

Finally got in touch with my parents late at night and told them how much I missed them and loved them. Spent the rest of the night watching, hoping, they would fine survivors. I cried myself to sleep.

I'll never forget September 11.

Well, most of u don't know it but I'm Israeli. Here in Israel we have 2 memorial days: one for the holocaust and one for all the wars and soldiers that died +the civilians that died in terror attacks. In each of these days we have an alarm for 2 minutes. In those two minutes we stand still with our heads looking down until the alarm stops. Every year. It's a very good way to remember what happened. And BTW there wasn't even a single day during the last 6 years that I didn't think about Sept 11. Not even 1 day. My heart is with u.
