Re: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Actually if you are driving below the speed limit and thus causing traffic to backup behind your vehicle, you can be ticketed for interfering with the flow of traffic. I would also say if there are clear weather conditions and you don't feel safe driving the speed limit then perhaps you shouldn't be driving at all.Comment

Re: What is your biggest pet peeve?
However, I do have to be fair. In New Jersey, there is a very specific "Keep Right, Except to Pass" law on the books that does get enforced on major highways.Last edited by matt8204; 08-18-2010, 12:20 PM.New Jersey Devils- 1995, 2000, 2003

Re: What is your biggest pet peeve?
A few notes about the passing lane.
1. It is not a driving lane. The passing lane is only legally to be used to pass "slower" vehicles on the right. Once a car has passed, you are supposed to return to the right lane.
2. If you are driving at 60 mph in a 55 mph zone, on the left lane, and a car is moving in at 65 mph, by law you are supposed to move to the right. Yes, you may already be driving above the speed limit, but again, the left lane is the passing lane, so a faster moving car has the right of way to overtake the left lane.
So, it goes without saying that one of my pet peeves is people that have pet peeves and don't know that they are wrong.
It's also a pet peeve of mine to have some guy just pop in to a thread, state some facts and act like he knows it all. Hate those kind of people."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Can't stand those people who feel like once they reach a certain speed, they get to just stay in the left lane. If someone is going faster than you, move over. Not your job to police the road.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: What is your biggest pet peeve?
There are people on here I'm sure who peeve me with this same issue (not me directly, but it is a pet peeve of mine)...
If somebody asks me if I've heard of, heard, or seen some band or movie, TV show, etc. and I haven't, why the hell do you go into this huge outrage like it's the end of the world? "OH MY GOD, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?! ARE YOU STUPID OR SOMETHING? GET OUT OF HERE, I DON'T WANT TO BE YOUR FRIEND ANYMORE!" Obviously they don't get that extreme, but what's the point of making it a big issue? So I haven't seen it. There was a time you hadn't seen it either, so just let it go. I can name thousands of things I've experienced that you haven't, and I'm not about to peeve you about it either.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: What is your biggest pet peeve?
When I'd wear a Texas hat around campus, or to a party, and some tool would come up to me and start **** about it and would then ask me to name five players from the football team. I'd proceed to name the entire starting offensive line and he'd look at me like: "What?"Comment

Re: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Haha well I understand making something a running joke or whatever, that's fine. But there are plenty of people I know who I get into engaging conversations with when it comes to music or movies and then I always bring up a personal favorite of mine and ask them if they've seen it. If they say yes, I choose to continue with my point or discussion. If they say no, it's no big deal. I may recommend it to them, but there is absolutely no reason to get on them about not seeing something, especially if I probably only saw it for the first time in the last couple of years.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
