What the **** is our obsession with naming every storm possible? These are snow storms, not ****ing Cat-3+ Hurricanes.

Because it's easier to keep track in records and refer to storm such-and-such than it is to refer to "The snow storm on the week of 2/16/15". Or if you have multiple major storms, you can't get away with calling something "The blizzard of 2015" if there were two of them a few weeks apart. Same reason we give nicknames or short names to anything, because it's easier to reference/recall. Seems cheesy in the present, but much easier if you look at history of something. We do it all over the place at work with servers, installs, projects, etc. Windows 10 was codenamed "Threshold". Want to know why? Because it is sure as hell easier to say "Threshold" than to say "The next version of Windows", not to mention more relevant once you look back because you could already be working on another next version.

It's still stupid. I don't care what it's called. If I ask someone anything about a particular winter, I'm going to ask them something like "Remember that bad winter we had in 2015?".

Most people aren't going to remember the names, and probably won't care to.

The real reason is that it creates more hype on the Weather Channel for the winter season. The NOAA and NWS do not recognize the names that the Weather Channel has created for the winter storms. Merely a gimmick...gets people all riled up and sounds more dramatic when something has a name.

My iPhone power/wake button being jammed.

I always hit it when I'm done with my phone. Keep my phone in my pocket all the time, now I can't without it opening apps, calls, etc. I gotta wait until it autolocks itself, which the lowest setting is a minute.

Apparently it's a widespread or known issue with iPhone 5's. Apple will fix it for free... AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT. But it's gonna drive me crazy.

                    NFL Combine analysts:

"When I watch the tape on this kid..."
"I'm gonna have to go back to the tape on him..."
"If you saw the tape on him from the LSU game..."
"His hip switch just jumps off the tape..."

Yes, watching tape on a player makes you some sort of super genius talent evaluator. If you were, you'd be a GM not some reporter trying to sound smart.

How many other sports do you hear guys talking about tape?

Hubie Brown probably has never said tape in his life and he knows his stuff better than most.

These guys think that simply because they utter the word tape that it somehow validates their knowledge.

Every single one of these analysts absolutely whiffed in their mock drafts last year. All of them.

It gives me a freaking headache.

Don't know what's happening. Is it the cable company or is there one big company that controls tv guides all over, cause I've been noticing this problem alot lately.

I recently did record a show, and that show wasn't even what aired on the channel at that time! My TVguide is messed up for some shows. Just listing some shows airing at certain times when they're not. And never listing the episode description of some shows(just the generic overview of the show instead). Or listing the exact same episode description for every single episode of that show for past week or two.

Another show I was watching,it aired back to back episodes. But the first episode that aired, had no episode description. The second episode on the back to back did(it wasn't a 2 part episode or an hour long episode either). So just seems like they randomly pick and choose what they update on the tvguides or something?

                        Neither.

They get their programming from the networks themselves.

They tend to get the data from aggregators. Time Warner and Uverse use FYI, Comcast uses Gemstar (TV Guide), DirecTV and Tivo use Tribune.

Regardless of how or where they get it from, it still sucks.

Somehow don't see this being something many people experience but, not feeling like eating during times I'm feeling hungry. And other times, not feeling hungry at times I feel like eating.

It rarely happens, but only bringing it up cause that's how I'm feeling now lol. First part is usually regarding breakfast or lunch. Second part usually is regarding dinner.
