Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

As someone that has worked in the landscaping business for almost 20 years now, you can't wait until 9am to start. The last 12 years I have been just mowing and we start at 8am, we can't wait until 9am to start, if we did we would be working until 6 or 7 at night and let me tell you, people have more of a problem with you in their yard mowing at 6pm then they do at 8am. There is one property we start mowing before 8am because it takes us all day to do it, and that is after starting it the day before and mowing for 2 hours.

So if me mowing at 8am bothers you, I really don't give a rats butt. I have a life and a family also that I would like to see in the evening just like everyone else. Especially in the summer when it's so hot. If I can start at 8 and be done by 4 or 5 I'm gonna, sometimes I can be done by 3 in the summer. If it was up to me I would be mowing at day break, but that would really piss some people off, so I think 8 is fair. I have a list of 75 lawns to do a week, not including the all day stop on Wednesday that is actually condos and there are 84 different lawns, plus public areas to do. Plus lets not forget the trimming that has to be done and then running the blower to clean off walks and driveways.

Sorry about the rant, but I hate when people think I have time to wait until 9am to start working, like I don't have a life in the evening like they do. Like in the winter when I plow and they say why are you here at 4am, because I have 100 stops to make and I have been working for 2 hours already.

This reminded me of my all time most freaked out wake up moment. 8AM I wake up in my apartment to the sound of smashing and a chainsaw... on my private balcony. Two guys with a chainsaw and a sledge hammer are out there demolishing it and tearing it down. Turned out they were hired to tear it down and build a communal balcony with steps that go all the way down.

Would've been nice if someone had tipped me off about the horrifying scene I was waking up to

So.......you are saying you making BANK. Cutting 75 yards a week, plowing 100 stops during the winter....Damn.

Yeah I wish! I get paid by the hour, not the lawn.

It’s like the inverse of noise from parties at night past 9-10pm. That’s not acceptable, but getting your loud *** power tools out early in the morning is? Doesn’t make sense to me. Common courtesy for the neighborhood.

FWIW, I was up already. I was thinking about for other people.

I understand you, but me personally, whenever I have chores or errands around the house, I like to get to it as soon as I wake up, while I still want to and it’s fresh on my mind. I can finish what I need to get done, then get on with my day...

Posting a techie question (or seeing someone who has already posted something similar) and the geekotechnozoids who answer by asking something to the effect of "why do you want to do that; you don't really need to do that"; even though there is a way to accomplish it. Then, geekotechnozoids 3 - 7 chime in and take the thread off onto a geekotechnozoid circle jerk about the ramifications and side bars about the original question to the point of where you can't recognize the original question .... or now what the hell they're even talking about.

When you enter a public single bathroom that is already stinky, and as you leave somebody else is out there waiting to go in... to the stinky bathroom... where you have to leave essentially taking the blame.

You may say: "Who cares? They don't know who you are." You then have forgot about a little environment called the workplace.

To piggyback on this. When you walk into the stinky bathroom and then the offender leaves the stall and goes right for the door completely ignoring that hand cleaning device called a sink.

I hate it when people play mind games. A friend of mine sends me only parts of the story, making me fish for the rest "to make sure I'm giving undivided attention"...or not answering my calls or texts because I did something wrong and should know?

I ain't in high school...cut this drama crap.

People who use obscure sites for tournament pick ems, fantasy, etc. I like gambling so I can't help but go ahead and join a big work pick em (plus it's a $700 prize), but the guy who sets it up each year uses poolhost.com and it's straight garbage.

I had this happen the other day, actually.

I'd been trying to write some code for a project work and was getting stumped at a particular point...I posted a question on an online forum and I get some dude condescending me on coding it THIS way and NOT that way...even though the portion of code the guy was asking was completely irrelevant to the question I was asking.
