Collecting baseball cards in binders? Oh that's so stupid. They sit in binders and you'll never look at them again.

Recently started collecting some Funko Pops. Bought some baseball bat shadow boxes today to display them in. Tells me how stupid it is to collect them, how stupid I am for adding to a wall in my man cave, and how stupid I was for dropping a case and shattering it when hanging it. I don't know how to hang things apparently. It was a damn accident.

Like why? Why am I not allowed to enjoy anything? I'm ****ing sick of it.

I feel for you, man. In my opinion, everybody needs their own "thing" and as long as you're still giving her some attention, aren't ignoring your other household obligation and aren't spending beyond your means then you're not doing anything wrong.

I'm lucky because my wife has her own "thing" (hobby) that keeps her busy so if I'm playing video games or watching sports she's not sitting there just waiting on me to finish to do something with her. Also, she's said time and time again that she loves the fact that I play games and stuff at home because on the flip side I could be doing other things that would annoy her like some of my other friends/family do. Things that that's much more time consuming and expensive and could actually keep me away from home. So to her me playing video games is actually a relief compared to what I could be doing.

It just sounds like your wife maybe needs her own thing so that you can have your time and, not to step out of bounds here, but maybe you guys should consider counseling about it. I mean, no one deserves to be berated for doing something that a) they enjoy b) isn't hurting anyone. I think that your resentment toward her is just going to continue to build the more and more if this doesn't get dealt with. However, I feel like you talking to her about it would just fall on deaf ears because you're just taking up for yourself and that isn't going to change her mind. Maybe hearing it from a third party would. Sorry, I don't mean to play internet psychologist here but I hate to see you continue to get treated that way.

I would agree that this could be concerning and need help. It's obviously something that makes him feel like crap, and she's constantly doing it. I can't imagine my wife being that mean constantly. We would need to talk about things and why we were always arguing, etc. Resentment building can kill relationships later on...don't just push it down.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

6 months ago I went for a job interview at this company I've been trying to get into for several years now. It was a good interview, but I wasn't hired. A few weeks ago, this HR Manager contacted me again telling me they have another opening for the same position (which wasn't advertised...a good sign - not many candidates), and scheduled an interview.

I go there, I ACE(!) the interview, plus they already know me and even seem more relaxed than they were last time. I felt the interview was going even better than last time. Then...again I get an email that they decided to pursuit another candidate.

So what was this all about? What's the point? They already knew me and remembered mostly everything from the previous interview. So why would you bring me again for an interview???

If I understand what you meant (I had to Google it), and without saying too much about it here, I don't think that was the case since I'm...ummm...not among that group.

My wife used to do something similar. I hunt and fish a lot and she used to give me crap about it, but we had a discussion about it and I told her, hey this is who you married. I have done these things since I was knee high to a grasshopper, and I made it perfectly clear when we first got together that I would do these two things until the day I die. There is no way I would stop doing either one of these things. Since that discussion everything has been fine. I worked for a few years as a first mate on a charter boat on Lake Ontario, so I take my fishing very seriously.

So I would just sit down with her and have a discussion about it and say hey this is who you married and you knew that at the beginning.

So I hope it works out for you brother. Nothing worse then a wife nagging you about something that you enjoy doing.

Have you talked to her about how she talks to you makes you feel? It sounds like these types of conversations devolve into arguing, so maybe having a more grounded discussion about how her berating you makes you feel will help.

If you have or don't feel like you can without getting into an argument, then I agree with Jeremy about looking into couples counseling.

When you go to watch one of your series recordings on the dvr and find that it didn't record it. I went to dvr history and it said "This program was not recorded because the system canceled the recording"

It cancelled it for absolutely no reason. There was no conflicting shows on at the same time, there was no change in the shows broadcasting timeslot, nothing. :

Just glad I picked up on the error before I went to bed and set it to record the west coast feed during the night.

We have seen a counselor. Just haven't gone in the last few months. I'm no angel myself but I honestly think her complaining about these things is stupid. There are so many worse things I could be doing like doing drugs or cheating.

Tell her to leave you alone or you're going to get high, play video games, while cheating on her and buying Funko pop's online all at the same time.

While driving down the highway, somebody in front of me threw a wad of gum out the window, I drive over it and get a huge streak of gum plastered on my driver's side door. I don't know it until I get out of my car and see this horrific sight. Whomever it was must have had like 20 pieces of Big League chew or something, they were definitely packing.
