Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Theres an item I've been trying to buy (it was on a pre black Friday sale).

It was out of stock, even sold out of backorders.

The minute the sale ends....and now suddenly they have LOTS available.

I hate when stores do this. Similar thing happened to me when I was grocery shopping. One item I wanted was sold out, but I happened to go again the day the sale ended, only to see someone filling up a shelf that was completely empty all week long.

I'm sure they JUST got that item in stock....

      The "threat" of lockdown.

Grow a pair and issue a lockdown, or just shut your wussy pie hole.

If there's one thing taking the general covid precautions has shown me, it's that we probably always have been and I just never paid any attention to it.

I decided to buy that item anyways, despite being at full price.

More and more stores this year are having black Friday guarantees where if an item goes on sale for black friday, you can price match it and get it at that price.

The item I bought was on a black Friday preview sale (on sale for a certain time to let people know it's also going to be on sale for BF), so I'm holding them to their word. If not, I guess I could always return this item for a full refund anyways.

Was around my brother last Thursday. He had some general aches and didn't feel sick but felt a little meh and out of curiosity and caution went for a covid test on Sunday that came back positive. Didn't actually go for a test myself yet, but I spent enough time around him and losing taste and smell (happened Monday night) is such a specific symptom that I just assume I caught it and have isolating myself as best I can to ride it out for a couple weeks.

No fever or breathing difficulties or any of the other symptoms to this point, so that's cool? I guess for most people their senses come back as the virus passes, so fingers crossed for me on that one.

I mean, all things considered I'll take the mild experience (so far) over anything more, but man...you don't realize just how much you pick up on in everyday situations using scent until you can't.
I can't say you're lucky, but I sure hope your smell and taste returns quickly.

I tested positive Wednesday after coming down with symptoms Monday(Tested Tuesday morning). Lungs are heavy, fever was really only present Monday into Tuesday. But the body aches that haven't subsided despite taking Tylenol/Advil have been non-stop. I have not lost my smell or taste, so either/or...this virus is not pleasant.

Yeah, most of it came back after a week. Still some times where I can tell I’m not getting full taste or smell, but it’s pretty good more often than not.

Hope you get through your stuff soon, man.

yeah, I stated awhile back the bodily smells when larger crowds are around can be major league gear grinders but a mask can alleviate some of that odor so I don't plan on giving up my mask so easy. I wonder if at some point in the next couple years banks and some stores flat-out ban masks being worn in their establishment.
''you can have my mask when you pry it from my cold dead hands'' - ''when masks are outlawed, only outlaws will have mask''

I don't get those per se, but I do drive a manual and I loathed those Sundays where I had to drive a few hours home in traffic from a softball tournament with the sun in my face. My left foot did not like me very much during those times.

the sun is another issue this time of year, my visor can't block it no matter how I position it, and if I use sunglasses I can't read my dashboard

edit: when you flip your visor down but it don't do ****!

With or without a pandemic, people need to learn boundaries.

When checking out today, there were 2 customers infront me. The person ahead of me has their shopping cart rubbing against the jacket of the customer ahead of them. Not only is that not keeping your distance, you're basically ramming your cart into someone. And by time they got to the front of the line, they just walked several feet past the sign that says "line up behind this line" so that they're basically standing at a specific cashier while waiting.

And then the person behind me is doing almost the same thing to me. To make matters worse, there's 2 people there. The one that's pushing the shopping cart, and the person they're shopping with, the latter of which is standing BESIDE me.

Like I said, even without a pandemic, how do these people not learn boundaries. Part of me wanted to just start leaning backwards and "accidentally on purpose" causing their cart to go backwards. Or clear my throat while staring at the person standing beside me, just to see what would happen.

Yeah, some people just don't care. One time leaving a Pitt football game I was trying to work my way to the line for buses back to campus, but it was so crowded in the area I was in you couldn't even move. As I'm standing there waiting for people around me to start moving again someone behind decided it was ncessary to have theirstomach (either obese or pregnant) pressed into my back.. If I wasn't concerned it might have been a pregnant person, they might've gotten real intimately acquainted with my elbows.
