It's probably a good rule of thumb now more than ever to not read the comment section of anything for any reason ever.

You could look up a video on making pancakes or something and find someone making an issue out of it.

that's because pancakes is dumb and anyone caught making them ought have to serve a year and a day.

While I may take issue with erroneous syrup, clearly the real problems arise with those who use powdered sugar. F*** those people.

You want to use Country Crock instead of real butter? I think you know what should be done to you. Those on that end of the political spectrum (yes, they're all on one particular end of it) don't even deserve to live in this country!

I would rather read the most trolling level comments on a political video than one of those long Reddit threads that goes on forever with guys just trying to come up with funny one-liners that have nothing to do with the actual topic. It's so bad.

I've said it before, but ever since the Internet found how to sort comments my relevance/popularity/highest rated, I love going to those sections now. YouTube comments are hilarious and get me my most laughs in the day.

Granted, some are just quoting the video or falling into current trends of how people leave comments, but other ones are just original thoughts from clever anonymous folks of the Internet.

As someone who listens to/watches a ton of podcasts and live streams, there a couple things that bug me. I guess radio would fit in here too, but mostly the other two.

1. when someone reads a hard to pronounce name, and starts off by saying "I'm probably going to butcher this, sorry." Then they say the name, and again apologize on and on about not getting it right. Like who even cares lol. Especially if the name is in a language that you do not speak. As someone with a last name that is 95% of the time pronounced wrong, we just don't care.

2. this has more to do with microphones, and people's idea of what gets picked up on them and what doesn't. The idea that just because your ear picked up a sound, that we as listeners definitely heard it through the microphone, and attention has to be called to it. Idk why but that bugs me, especially when 99% of the time we dont hear whatever it was. Whether it's someone down the block doing yard work, or the smallest little sound in their recording studio, it's always like "oh you guys had to have heard that, sorry." If mics were THAT sensitive they would pretty much be useless.

A couple made flyers and went around to all the neighbors. The flyer had all the information for the contractor on it and said what they were doing was illegal and told people to call the contractor and say they were not allowed to work on their property without their permission. I called the contractor and said do whatever you want to my yard, but apparently at least three other people had already called and complained the same day. He was adamant they were still going to do the job and told me they'd be starting the next day. But here we all.

Are they laying new lines throughout the neighborhood in the easement? I imagine the contractor has a lot of experience telling people to shove it.

Yeah, they were going to be running new fiber lines because we don't have fiber here. And apparently never will.

Damn, did the NIMBYs actually succeed at blocking it? I am grateful in my neighborhood everything is still on powerlines (well until they fall over) so adding fiber was very easy for ATT.

So, some potential positive news. The city was back out here painting where the gas/water/etc. lines are underground, which I think they typically do if work is going to start within the next three or five days.

However, this is the third time they've come out and painted.. So I'm not holding my breath.

This probably just adds on to one of the many prior driving gear grinders...

People who know they're in the wrong, but do it anyways.

For instance, yesterday I saw someone planning on turning left onto a street. They saw a car coming out from that street, which was a one way street, so they must have realized that and drove off, or so I thought. Once that car came out of the street, that other car did a U Turn on the road they were on, came back, and turned right, going the wrong way down the one way street. So clearly they knew it was a one way street, but decided to go down it anyways. Either that or they thought the one way street sign only meant no left turns onto the street for some reason.

And basically any car in a parking lot. Theres one parking lot I use to get to work where theres no sidewalk or pathway for pedestrians. Meanwhile, cars drive around in it as if people will just fly over your car when you come near them. Theres literally nowhere else for people to walk, so its not their fault for being in the cars way, even when they're walking almost against the parked cars (which also isn't safe since people pull out at such fast speeds without realizing theres literally dozens of people walking around).

And dont get me started on people who pull aside/park on a road that wasn't meant for anyone to pull aside or park on because they're blocking the entire lane and/or decide to just do all that AND have their door open.
