It's too bad it's not as simple as saying, "Hey *******, don't leave your car running at a gas station".

It's rare that someone's going to get blown up for it, but that's beside the point.

My vehicles are both GM cars and if you fill them up with the switch turned over and the fuel pump on, it could mess up the gas gauge.

You can actually be cited for doing it.

It's been happening to me on NCAAF 13 and it's driving me crazy. I hate having to go back and replay a game.

While there are certainly people out there that make a killing panhandling and deceiving people, you can't make a blanket assumption that all of them are trying to get over. This is not to say give $20 bucks to every homeless person you see, either.

True story...There was a homeless lady I bought a Subway sandwich for. You could tell she hadn't eaten in weeks. Man, she started tearing up and repeatedly thanked me for it. I said you're welcome and the next thing I see is her devouring that sandwich.

As much as people like to believe that everyone has the same opportunities to succeed, some simply do not. Environmental factors play a role, not getting adequate support and encouragement from their families, and just plain bad fortune. All of this plays a role in how people turn out. We can't allow allow our good circumstances/fortune to have us believe that we're better than the next. We must humble ourselves, because we could have all ended up the same way. Peace.
Pretty much the exact same situation for me, except it was a guy and happened about a month ago. When I gave him the sandwich, you can genuinely tell he was thankful for it and hasn't eaten in days. He keeps all of his possessions in a shopping cart and sleeps under an overpass. A couple weeks later, I saw a cop taking to him and him getting up, so I don't know where he is now.

I see homeless people everyday in downtown Houston. It's always a reminder to be modest and humble.

Especially since I was adopted, I know that I am incredibly blessed. I was the youngest and my biological mom was too poor to take care of me and I could've grown up very poor if she decided to keep me. I could've been in and out of foster care until I was 18 and ended up on the streets like so many.

I know that if a few things didn't go in my favor (my parents adopting me) or if things don't go my way in the future, I could end up on the streets. Helping the homeless is a must for me.

This and having trouble falling asleep are grinding my gears more than anything as of late.

I think a lot of my kindness comes from my family.

When my grandfather was in the hospital, where he eventually passed away, I was sitting in a lobby with my grandmother and there were these two kids and their mother sitting there. They looked like they didn't have much money to afford clothes, but the lady was nice and spoke to us, when she sat down.

My grandmother was a wreck for a week straight (so was the rest of the family). Anyways, my grandmother tells me to go down to Subway at the ground floor and buy myself, my mom, sister, and my aunt something to eat. We come back and we're sitting in the lobby eating (my grandmother refused to eat for a few days) and the little kids across the lobby kept looking at us and whispering to their mom and she kept shaking her head.

You really had to see these kids.. they looked like they had not eat in weeks and they had some really old and dirty clothes on and no shoes. The lady had on shoes, but they were an old pair of new balance and were in horrible shape.

Anyways, my grandmother gets up and says she will be right back. She comes back with three sandwiches and chips and gives them to the lady. I've never seen anyone be so thankful for something in my entire life.

It's one of those things that I will never forget for the rest of my life and it's the first thing that comes to mind, when I see someone on the street, hungry.

Kids are a soft spot for me. They are so innocent and I always try my best to help out all. Yesterday I saw something and didn't do anything about it, but it just felt wrong. I was waiting in my car to fill up gas, and saw 3 teenish/20s girls walking with a 3-4ish year old boy, and he's crying and they way she picked him up and put him down was so disgusting. It's not my say to butt in but it just seemed like this isn't a one time thing. It breaks my heart seeing that. Just 'manhandled' the kid in such a aggressive manner.

Be humble and grateful everyone, sure there are scammers out there, but there are also people who really are suffering for whatever hardship that has hit them.
