Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I go by these rules (in order of support):
1. You root for any team of a school you attend/attended. This overrides all others unless you attended because of grad school, money problems, or you're a dullard.
2. You may root for any school your parents attend.
3. You may root for 1 major local school as long as it is not a major rival of where you attend.
4. You may root for any local non-1A football team or non-power conference team.
5. You may casually root for 1 major school that is subject to change at any time. But if you do this, you have to admit that you're on the bandwagon, and you must have a pretty good knowledge of the team. You cannot actually say you're a fan of said team.
You pretty much pick one of the first 3, then 4 and 5.
Pro Sports:
1) you can only be a fan of 1 team per league unless you have a family member or friend who is or is related to a player or coach of a team.
2)you can dump 1 team for another for any reason but don't keep switching and being wishy-washy.
3) you don't have to pull for the hometown team. Pull for any team that you want but choose it carefully and for the right reasons.
4)don't hop off the wagon because of one or a few bad games
5)you can like a powerhouse team if you wish
College:
1) you can only be a fan of 1 team per division (1 for fbs, 1 for fcs, etc.)unless you have a family member or friend who is or is related to a player or coach of a team.
2) you can have up to three secondary favorite teams per division but they can't be rivals or in the same conference of the primary team
3) you can dump 1 team for another regardless of the reason but don't switch often.
4)you don't have to be a fan of the hometown or home state team or the school that you went to. Pick carefully the 1st time because if you switch too much, you're a bandwagon fan
5) don't like 1 team for 1 sport and then another team for a different sport
6)you can like a powerhouse team if you wish- Arizona Cardinals (Eternal Punishment)

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I found it hilarious and aggravating at the same time whenever my roommate tried to discredit people who don't root for the local team.
He is just jealous that he is stuck with the Buffalo Bills and that he doesn't follow sports other than the NFL.
As far as I'm concerned, you can root for anybody you want. Just don't jump off when bad times come around.Last edited by sydrogerdavid; 11-22-2012, 01:39 PM.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I adopted all of my pro teams when I was a little kid, except for the Rays..
and I'm really not a big Rays fan at all and I don't have any extensive knowledge of the organization...
I've been through the good and the bad with the Buccaneers and Lakers, but it's been mostly good for the Lakers.Comment

All these people I see lined up at stores today waiting for tonight instead of being at home with their kids.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
It's not so bad as long as people are on their laptops or tablets.
I had to fill out an online application to re-apply for school because I took a semester off, and this ******* girl kept using Facebook on one of the computers in the main registration building and there were people wanting to use computers for similar reasons.
There are seriously people lined up at stores right now? Wow...Last edited by NinerFan1983; 11-22-2012, 05:13 PM.Comment

The main library at my school is like that too.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Amazon matching some of these advertised deals, then just randomly making them go live is stupid. They have these lightning deals set up, but instead they just randomly lower the price without any rhyme or reason.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I don't get why it's such a big deal. It has been going on for years (for many people it's one of their family traditions) and most of the people have the next day off so they can spend that with their families as well. For the record, neither I nor anyone in my family has ever lined up for a black friday sale so I'm not defending something that I do, I just don't understand why people are upset about it.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Salad mix that starts turning brown after like a day or two. I sealed it up all nice, too.
Clean dishes that are still dirty. Gotta wash both the top AND bottom side of the dish, especially if they've been sitting in the sink for a day. Yeah, I'm still fighting that dishes battle, except no dishwasher anymore.
Random bug bites. This is becoming a serious concern for me. My legs are pretty bit up, now my arms are getting bites too. One of the four units in this building had a flea problem, or it could be (and this is embarrassing) bed bugs. Our mattress was sitting in my old room back at my dad's for a good 6 months, uncovered. Ughhh. Disgusting.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
