Employee scans it, sure enough, $19.99. I have two digital coupons through PowerUp Rewards, one for $5 off anything and one for $15 off a preowned game. Employee checks and confirms they can both be used on the same transaction; I had already checked and knew this as well.

Employee enters the coupons and the price of the game jumps back up to $24.99. After the coupons, it comes out to $4.99 plus tax. Manager comes out and explains that because I'm Elite Pro and I'm using my PowerUp Rewards, for each coupon I use, it adds $2.50 back to the transaction. That's a total load of crap and he knows it. Another employee pipes up and says that just last week, a similar situation happened and the other manager overrode the price to make it right. Then the manager says that the price on the tag is incorrect, and it's actually $24.99 for Elite Pro. The employee quietly tells him, where I can still hear, that it rang up as $19.99.

The manager in front of me eventually says for me to pay the price on the screen. I left the game on the counter and walked out. I wasn't in the least bit rude, start to finish. I know several of the guys/gals really well and spend a lot of money there... too much, in fact.
I'll be honest, I saw your avatar before starting to read the post and immediately knew who it was and was expecting another cop story

      That is pretty bullcrap though.

Damn, bruh. I was reading up until the part where you slammed your badge down on the counter and asked if the manager wanted to "go for a little ride down to the station." That part never came, though.

I don't usually trip over the shovel. My technique is to clock myself in the chest with the handle as the shovel stops its forward progress (but does it complete the process?), whereas sadly mine does not.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Well, I don't have any really good/hood stories at the moment, but two weekends ago was the last home game and I only walked out of the stadium with seven mini bottles of Jack Daniels (two Honey, which I love) and two mini bottles of Hennessy. Somewhat disappointing, seeing as I volunteered for the student section this time.

For those not in the know, officers seize alcohol when we see it, seeing as it's not allowed in the stadium. If it's open, I pour it out. If it's sealed, I "confiscate it for educational purposes".

I'm educating my kids on how their dad is becoming an alcoholic.

Anyway, I also found out that there's a new trend going around where girls will get a large rubber band and have around them just under their bra. At that point, they fill condoms (flavored? lubed? I dunno) with their choice of alcoholic beverage, tie the condom and hang multiples in their boob-bands. The only way to catch this is to... observe. So we observed alot. The wife didn't approve. Such is life.

My gears were ground because I didn't get enough alcohol and this was the last game. Now I have to fund my lifestyle with overtime.

that's another area where I fail, I position the handle too low and catch kickback in the junk because, again, I'm that idiot

Truth. I was trapped for a day in Birmingham at my office. We violated company policy on credit card usage so bad, but we had to have our, uh, necessities.

We had a keg engraved in the office, it read "We survived Snowmageddon".

Come to think of it, that night began the downfall of my first marriage. Ha.

It’s that your infrastructure isn’t designed for it and you have way too few pieces of equipment to deal with it. We get every type of winter precipitation you can think of. We are just equipped to deal with it.

I was making a PB&J and my clumsy self dropped a piece of bread I was spreading peanut butter on and it fell peanut butter side down on the kitchen floor. It felt like time stood still as I watched this piece of bread flip and land.

Life presents less gear grinding when you employ the 3 second rule. I just need to figure out how to apply it to spilt milk lol
