I never warm my car up. I scrape the windows before getting inside and then just drive away. I've always been under the assumption that just driving warms your car up faster than just leaving it running idle in your driveway.
You know what really grinds my gears?

"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
In the winter, it's good to let it run for a few minutes to get the oil circulating... especially for you guys in the North.
In the summer it's not a big deal because the second it starts the oil pump is turning and it's circulated.
I warm my vehicle up for a minute, regardless of the weather outside.
I don't like to crank it up and it come in idling at 1.5k rpms and take off like that. I would rather give the oil a second to circulate and let it idle back down to 1k rpms..
Just some weird quirky things I've picked up from my dad over the years.
I usually take his advice on most everything.. he's a damn good mechanic.Comment

Auto start is the best option I ever bought in a car. I really only use it in the winter because I refuse to scrape the windows!Last edited by nemesis04; 01-11-2013, 02:22 PM.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Frames for glasses being hundreds of dollars. They cost what, maybe $20 to make? They aren't made in any special way that prevents them from being crushed. That is before the lenses which are an extra few benjamins....this is with insurance too.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I picked up a few cheap pair from there to wear at home. My contact lenses kill me when I'm trying to game or look at a TV for an extended period of time.
My last pair of glasses (Oakleys) got knocked in the lake and I said I would never get another expensive pair.Comment
