I never warm my car up. I scrape the windows before getting inside and then just drive away. I've always been under the assumption that just driving warms your car up faster than just leaving it running idle in your driveway.

You don't have to worry about driving modern cars with a cold engine.

I think the standard is 30 seconds and go maybe? In colder weather.

I warm mine up just so I'm not cold.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

In the winter, it's good to let it run for a few minutes to get the oil circulating... especially for you guys in the North.

In the summer it's not a big deal because the second it starts the oil pump is turning and it's circulated.

I warm my vehicle up for a minute, regardless of the weather outside.

I don't like to crank it up and it come in idling at 1.5k rpms and take off like that. I would rather give the oil a second to circulate and let it idle back down to 1k rpms..

Just some weird quirky things I've picked up from my dad over the years.
I usually take his advice on most everything.. he's a damn good mechanic.

Yeah, you can do that. Just to make sure oil gets everywhere it needs to. Needing it to warm up for minutes is a myth, even way up here.

Auto start is the best option I ever bought in a car. I really only use it in the winter because I refuse to scrape the windows!

Frames for glasses being hundreds of dollars. They cost what, maybe $20 to make? They aren't made in any special way that prevents them from being crushed. That is before the lenses which are an extra few benjamins....this is with insurance too.

I picked up a few cheap pair from there to wear at home. My contact lenses kill me when I'm trying to game or look at a TV for an extended period of time.

My last pair of glasses (Oakleys) got knocked in the lake and I said I would never get another expensive pair.

So would Vermont. If maple syrup was oil, Vermont would be Saudi Arabia far as wealth goes.

You could say that about anything.....Most things cost pennies or a few dollars to make but marked up way high.

Yeah, when I got mine last year, I just picked the frame I liked the best, and then realized they were Armani when I was going to pay for them. I picked up two pairs from eyebuydirect just so that I could carry one with me, and leave one at work. That way, the expensive ones would never even have to leave my house. No way I'm risking losing/damaging a pair of frames that cost as much as the originals.
