I hate small talk, I understand that people want to make conversation, and to be friendly I acknowledge them, but I hate it. What gets accomplished? So, do you like living in "insert town's name here" My reply, it's alright. So hows work? My reply; it's work I guess, it pays.
It's just really repetitive, and I always hated sitting at the dinner table, I'd rather watch tv or read a sports magazine, video game etc.. Then be asked "So how was school today? It sucked, same as everyday, why do you ask me this everyday?

Barbers who insist on talking to you.
The one nice and relaxing time in a day where I kind of just get to close my eyes and be able to turn off my brain as well, they just yap their heads off asking me things that they won't ever remember about me.
I know they're going for the tip, but I can't truly believe that they enjoy telling their life story over and over. I sure as hell know I don't like it. I just don't want them to think I'm a rude, unfriendly person because I'm not talking to them or I only answer their questions as they ask them.
The only difference would be if you go in there so regularly that you and your barber are friends and having an actual dialogue, or that you're describing how you want your hair actually cut or whatever.
I understand the job can be boring, and if you just cut people's hair then they paid you all day that you might crave conversation, but I'd prefer I sparked it, not them.
