Quick quiz to test my theory: Without Googling, what's the difference between a prokaryote and a eukaryote?

Anybody that hasn't had Biology in a few years know that off the top of their head?
Prokaryotes don't have a nucleous, EuKaryotes do. Or at least that's my best guess.

Haven't been in a Bio class since in four years (freshman year of high school) so it's pretty much a guess...

I was gonna take a stab at it too, but really I was just impressed with myself for recognizing those words. I would've been wrong though with my guess, close but wrong.

I don't recognize either word, but it's been fourteen years since I had a Bio class. Or at least that's my excuse.

                That doesn't make sense.

If I remember my calculus correctly, the derivative is 6x2, the integral is (1/2)x4. But as far as I know standard deviation applies only to a data set, not to an expression or equation.

I don't even know what that means.

I do not miss math classes (I've taken one, "Basic Math for the Modern World" in the past six years).

I take that to mean I was right?

Don't consider me a theory killer though. I've got quite a bit better memory than a most people. I scared my Psych teacher last year when I explained that I clearly remembered asking my parents at the age of 5 why Santa was using the same wrapping paper that they (my parents) had used the previous year (this was right after she explained that most people have trouble remembering anything prior to age 4-6).

I basically took my senior year off (in that I paid little to no attention in classes, sometimes even falling asleep) and still didn't get a grade in any class lower than a B+ for the year...

In relation to taking pointless classes, I'm trying to figure out how Speech is required for becoming a Game Developer...

I hate that. I feel fairly confident that I won't have to know anything about organelles and the polysaccharides when I'm a journalist.

Oops, yes I meant derivative, and the answer of the derivative of 2x3 is 6x2. You win!

Heh, I actually had a similar experience in one of my college psych classes. My professor explained that episodic memory is one of the least reliable forms of memory and I actually inadvertantly laughed out loud because I have a very good episodic memory. I have no idea why I remember half of the trivial details that I do.

Endosymbiosis to one organism that lives inside another organism in a symbiotic or mutually beneficial relationship. A prime (and extreme) example are mitochondria. Mitochondria are organelles found inside all eukaryotic cells that act to produce energy for the cells in which they reside and in return their host cells give them nutrients. Mitochondria are believed to have evolved from ancient bacteria similar to the cyanobacteria that developed an endosymbiotic relationship with early eukaryotic cells billions of years ago.

Folks who utilize an autocratic style of leadership on a constant basis. It creates a tense work environment. The team will work for you because they have no choice, but in most cases it will be with a grudge, which is not really good. You will be able to cut the tension thats in the air with a knife.

A mixture of charismatic and democratic with a tid bit of autocrat is gold all day long. Use these three styles balanced together and the team works for you because they're eager to accomplish tasks for you. Leaves no tension in the air. You must balance appropriately though.
