Yeah if you were in the military or played sports, you would get use to being naked in front of other people. When I was in boot camp, our shower area was one big box like room. 12 shower heads, no walls or dividers. After a while we all got use to it and started holding conversations up in there while showering.
Doesn't bother me one bit.....Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
In middle school one of the PE teachers required his students to shower after class. Everyday, no matter what the activity was. He'd stand in the door way of the shower room and watch to make sure they took towels off and actually showered. Then he'd check them off his list.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I've never taken a shower in a locker room, just seems weird. Even after 2-3 hours of football practice where I smelled like complete **** and covered in dirt i'd rather just stink up the car for 10 minutes until I got home.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

It's not showering together with other people that concerns me, it's going in there with people who I have a relationship outside of "showering together" with.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
It was part of his required curriculum to pass his class. Many parents complained over the years and he was never made to remove it. I drew him my second year there. My parents complained and I was transfered to the other teacher.
That's how administration handled it. If anyone complained they'd get transfered out.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
In HS we had special showers installed in my football lockerroom and NOBODY used them. We rather stink like **** for the 1-2 hour [public]bus rides homes (my school was in rich town, most of the team lived far away) than shower there. Every once in a blue moon somebody had to shower there because they were going somewhere after practice and the jerks on the team messed with them the whole time.
I do remember one time after the muddiest practice of all time, the team took a team shower with all their clothes and pads on. It was weird (thank goodness I was injured and hardly got mud on my shoes).
At college we had communal showers in my freshman dorm. It took some getting used to but the showers were actually separated to avoid awkward eye contact. I jumped at the chance to stay on campus apartments just because of that lol. Those had one bathroom shared by two roommates. By my senior year we all got our own bathrooms. That was the best.Last edited by kingkilla56; 12-20-2013, 04:52 PM.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
My Jr. High School also did this. We had this fat PE teacher (oxymoron right?) that would tell us that we would need to shower. He wouldn't watch us, but he'll make sure your hair is "wet" which meant you took a shower. After the next couple of weeks, kids just ran into the shower to get their head wet then ran back out. Some, including me, would just go to the sink and wet my hair.
This was also the same JR High that required us to wear jock straps, and we had to show the teachers we were wearing them.
We didn't have to pull our pants down, but we had to pull one of the straps out from our shorts to prove we wore them.
The same fat PE teacher from above also taught health class. So guess who was alone in the room when the girls watched the video of getting their period? Yup, old Mr. Fannelli.. or we called him Fattelli.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Showering and getting naked in a public locker room isn't weird but walking around the place like your alone at home is. Like I'll see people walk from one area of the locker room to another naked, with a towel in their hand the entire time. PUT THAT **** ON. Or people strip down completely naked just to weigh themselves on the scale. No scale at a gym is so precise that having underwear on is going to affect your weightOriginally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
They're probably doing it just to **** with people who don't like it. It's a game of 'how uncomfortable can I make people by walking around with my dong out'.
