    I couldn't do Breaking Bad.

I'm sure in the future I'll force myself to get into episode two but episode one was just so slow that I just didn't give a **** and forced myself to finish it.

Breaking Bad started off so slow for me. One of the few shows I stuck with after the first couple episodes bored me.

You guys put a lot of books down for good after the first 5 pages?

My free time is limited, I barely have time for all the stuff I know I like, why am I going to force myself to watch something I don't like forsaking things I know I like? Because you like it?

To be fair, the best piece of advice I ever got was to stop reading something that bores you.

Way too many books for one to win my time in page 100.

If by page 5 I can tell the writing won't keep me (the writing is the hook for me. Plot is second), I put it down and move on to something I enjoy.

Nope, but granted besides this first GOT book I haven't read without being required to in years.

If a book has more than 5 pages it's not worth reading.

Nope, but if you don't interest me in ~50 pages it's not worth reading.

Too many good books out there to be bored by something.

I think 5 chapters is a better comparison as opposed to 5 pages.

10 pages is actually the standard for most agents. Don't hook an agent or their assistant who reads the manuscripts in the first ten pages and your prospective book is put in the "Naaaaah" stack.
