It's a way of saying they have a job to do. I've already explained it. You've never heard that expression??

Also, if this catches on and more and more athletes do this, then there's zero point to the media sessions. Those would be jobs lost.

No question there's dirty media members out there, but if they're just asking normal questions, then it isn't asking much to respond like a normal grown adult.

Oh I've heard it before. I also know that journalists in the big cities where these athletes are aren't struggling to feed mouths.

They most absolutely would not be.

This is what's aggravating; you take a mere fraction of what I said and dissect that, and completely miss the big picture of what was said.

I guess I just don't see the issue. The athletes are speaking to the media (which is required) and the media is asking questions and getting answers (which is required).

Both parties are doing EXACTLY what is stated in their respective contracts.

Side note: it's funny that all three people that the public complain about their media interactions the most all play for the Seahawks. Lynch doesn't talk enough, Sherman talks to much, and Wilson is too cliche.

I've never had a problem with Sherman or Wilson. If a dude is corny or aggressive, at least they're into it. They're doing their media obligations.

Even if Lynch and Westbrook gave very vague answers, that'd be fine. Just kill the ignorant, 'F-U' attitude. It's just annoying.

I can't help but watch ESPN. I love my sports, but then this garbage shows up, and I'm just like....c'mon man.

I hate how players are required by their league to talk after games. Especially if it's a guy with social disorders, trust me I know how difficult that can be. I'm trying to remember which show I was listening to the other day, maybe Cowherd, and he was suggesting each team have 5 or 10 designated players available to the media. Seemed like a good idea to me, but people would complain about that too so

If it honestly didn't bother me, I wouldn't have even bothered to post.

It's not like this is the 'Pleasures of Life' thread. This is the YKWRGMG thread....no??

On one hand, I would like to see players be professional since they're getting paid very well and dealing with the media is part of their job. On the other, I honestly don't care what most of the guys have to say anyway... for example at halftime of the GB/DAL game nothing can get me to turn a TV faster than seeing an interview with bland*** Russel Wilson coming up... most athletes are like that and just give boring, vanilla answers in all of their interviews therefore, I wouldn't mind seeing them ending the requirement to speak to the media altogether.

Also, it would be nice if the media realized what they're doing and if the guys really aren't going to say anything of value, then a) stop reporting them gives useless answers and/or b) just leave them alone. Obviously, the reports have their bosses to answer to so I don't see either of those happening.

If you don't watch ESPN you won't give a **** one way or the other about what meaningless crap athletes do or do not say to a media that doesn't give a flying **** about anything other than ratings.

Moral of story, it don't ****ing matter, quit feeding the beast and just watch the damned game on Sunday.
