    I absolutely loathe those commercials.

Those medical commercials are also annoying as hell. The people obviously have some big medical issue but yet they are always out ziplining, hiking through a volcano, digging for dinosaur bones, etc and they are always smiling. All the while the massive list of side effects of said medication is read off. This meme sums it up.

I don't know if people have to hear "Happy Birthday" be sung as often as I do, especially from a younger crowd, but I can't remember the time that the overall crowd's starting key from that song wasn't too high for the "BIRTH-" note that they have to hit, so they end up singing lower after that. It always comes off as a trainwreck to me, though honestly I don't think anyone else ever cares or notices lol.

She told me that we would just do it after I fill up. I told her that I was worried something was wrong with the card because it gave me some problems the day before at Wal Mart.

So she insists it's going to work and tells me to go on. I filled up for $38.00 and went back in to pay. Card doesn't work. She tried it three times and I told her it's not going to work I think something is wrong.

I told her I work close by, told her where, and offered to leave my license to go to the bank and come back. She refused. "Okay, I'm 35 minutes from home.. how would you have me do it?". She continued to refuse to let me go and finally I told her that I don't really have a choice... write my tag number, keep my license I don't care.. I'm going to the bank to get the $$ and coming back... besides the fact that she was the one who insisted that it would work. The lady even said she would call the cops if I left.. lol. I was preparing to just let that happen and then the night shift worker came in.

So they were turning over to the evening shift and the lady vouched for me and told me I could go and it would be fine. I went, got the money from the bank, and came back. I thanked the other lady for letting me go, but after I paid I told them I'm not coming back. I'll drive out of my way to go somewhere else next time.

I'm not writing a Yelp review about a gas station or anything, but what the ****? I probably spent $1500 in this place on gas last year just filling up every week for work.
I'd go back but if I saw the first lady was on duty I'd do a quick turnaround back out the door

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

              All commercials are ridiculous.

Do people get paid 6 figures to be like "let's advertise our new car by having it drive through an open road, make sharp turns, and even go through harsh weather. You know, like 90% of car commercials?".

And commercials about so many things make an old version look like it sucks, when it's the exact same message literally for decades now.

Buy the latest razor. Unlike old ones, this provides a smooth feel and is the best shave yet.

Our new deodorant smells better and lasts longer than ever before!

Tired of the old mops that do nothing but push layers and layers of mud around your house? Buy our mop, it gets everything!

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

I think commercials (advertising in general) have changed quite a bit in the past 20+ years.

Now it's all about telling consumers how smart and unique they are. Embrace your own brand of beauty, personality, and just be yourself ... by buying our product.

Or they just use internet meme lingo from 10 years ago for no reason.

                  Guy1: wait, what?
Guy2: I see what you did there
                  Guy3: Really ...?
                  Guy1: I know, right?
                  Guy2: nailed it

                  Now that **** I hate.

The fact that you pay so much attention to commercials that you apparently don't like shows you why those folks make the money they do.

That apple commercial with the lady laughing hilariously is so annoying. I’m usually on my phone during commercials but it catches my attention every time it comes on and I snicker at it.

Then at the end I’m always like the commercial is so pointless. Does the average person really care about encrypted messages?

At my last job my boss gave me flak (though he attempted to make it a joke which just made it so much worse) for taking a day off for a funeral.
