Pineapple included in anything besides assortments of other fruits should be shunned on. Pineapple and tomato paste have no right to be used in such a way that would be blasphemous to the pizza gods.

my favorite pizza is ham, mushroom and pineapple. in fact my most favorite pizza I can only find when I make my annual trek to Gatlingburg: goat cheese pizza with pineapple. delicioso

what grinds my gears are black olives on pizza. I used to tolerate them if somebody else was doing the ordering but I don't let that happen anymore. yeah, olives, yech.

Sadly not all.

Like pineapple. I don't care if it's by itself or on pizza, I hate it either way.

Ironically I find things like peppers taste better by themselves than cooked up/on pizza.

Where from?! I’ve had Big Daddy’s, Luigi’s and a place called Best Italian. I think that’s the name for the last one, but I may be off. I loved Gatlinburg as a kid. We would camp on the outskirts near Dudley Creek for a month or longer every year. Memories I’ll never forget. Olives are disgusting.

I live in Mobile now, so it’s a much further drive. Disney is just as close now, but we haven’t vacationed in over a year, so I’m undecided where we’ll venture to next. I tent-camped in Cades Cove primitive areas for several days, but that was more than years ago.

Sirius XMs has stations dedicated to each decade and they still manage to only play the same 20 songs

yeah, Big Daddy's, actually in Pigeon Forge. in Gatlingburg there's nothing like Fannie Farkle's sausage sub. I can't walk by there and resist grabbing one to go. I live near Talladega so Gatlingburg isn't too terribly a long trip for me.

what grinds my gears is having to leave from a vacation up in the mountains. I never feel that way when I leave Gulf Shores/Orange Beach. I'm always ready to get back home and vacuum the sand out of my cracks

It gets on my nerves when people from
Cold climates are making fun of Texans for not being able to handle the cold instead of helping and giving tips how to survive it. The same thing happens to them when a heat wave comes in and the power goes out.

When I first setup my resort in El Nido, it’s such a remote place that the power would be out at 6 am to 5 pm every day if you didn’t have a generator. I went through this for two years straight.

I had to buy a couple emergency fans that were charged every night and use them till the battery died.

I also took 3 cold showers a day, a couple were not with soap. I also would go outside in the shade to get air flow going. Obviously drink a lot of water and I also jumped in the ocean a couple times a week.

After two weeks of it I got used to it and can handle the heat.

You can also put a wet rag and place behind your neck.

I also meditate, so when it got tough I would do a session and I would be able regulate my body temp by breathing exercises.

When my AC broke in my car in AZ and was too broke to fix it so I just had to tough it out and do the same thing. After two weeks I was used to it and can handle AZ summers without AC in my car.

I’m glad I went through these situations so that you know to handle emergency situations. I also grew up in Alaska and know how to deal with the cold.

Texans should be sealing their doorways and covering windows with plastic to insulate the home.

Tent up in the home and have sleeping bags and have everyone in the home use the tent. Have a portable butane stove to boil water and make food.

Maybe I’ll start a disaster kit thread to share what I built since I have to always be ready living in the Philippines dealing with typhoons, earthquakes, floods and volcano eruptions.

I have one in the house and one in the car.

The "let me tell you about how great my diet is" stuff is pretty funny. Sometimes it sounds like they trying to convince themelves as much as the other person. I say whatever works for you is cool. In my experience getting enough exercise can smooth out some of the rough edges of any diet. Except maybe the whole intermittent fasting thing. Anyone who is going 18-24 hours between eating is going through some level of pain lol.

Funny you mention intermittent fasting as the Wife has been doing it since October and I ended up starting it last month. I've never been a huge snack person so going 18 hours between meals isn't as big a deal when you consider a portion of that I'm sleeping anyways. In the end it's really just a way to keep myself in check when it comes to soda and force myself to drink a lot more water, the lack of eating hasn't effected me at all.

I used to freeze a few two liter bottles of water overnight and set them on the floor in front of a box fan the next day to blow some semblance of cool air on me and the dog.



I felt worse for the dog, I did the cold shower thing, too, but couldn't do it for him. and if you limit the drying portion of your hair to the point of it not dripping, then blow the fan on your wet head, it would help.



Little dog, though, he couldn't stop panting, I would take ice packs and place them against his body for 10 second increments and it seemed to help, but he wanted to play toys and my apartment would top out at 103 and I couldn't let him zoom around in that temp while his tongue was already hanging to the floor


(I also just noticed my response isn't necessarily about power outage as much as finding ways to deal with extreme heat when you don't have AC, and I incorporated my old dog for some reason)

The produce bags at Giant Eagle Market District, they're just too friable. Had checked out and was transferring my gorceries from the Market District bag to my bookbag to carry home and I picked up the produce bag and it completely self-destructing dumping my apples everywhere. They actually have different types of produce bags and the smaller clear ones are most abundant and those are also the most friable. They also have larger green bags that seem to be a bit stronger, but they don't always seem to have them.
