They do that when you first sign up. It's not like that all the time.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Okay please tell me if I am just being a jerk or if you would also be pissed off over this.

Last Thursday I signed a contract to get a new used car, it is a straight trade to get out of my car and into something more New England friendly. Add to that they messed up the price of the car I am getting by nearly $4000 in my favor (they mistakenly advertised it online for $9k, book value is over $13k) so I jumped on it. They needed to make some repairs to the car which they agreed to do.

Originally I was told to come in last Friday to take delivery, specifically I was told to plan to come in for 4pm unless I heard different. They never called, I drove the half hour there, waited half an hour to find that the car wasn't ready and was told it would be ready by Tuesday (Monday was a Massachusetts holiday), so I ended up wasting 1.5 hours on this. On top of that I am told that they couldn't get into service for a final inspection all day.

Tuesday comes, and I'm told they're just ordering the part it needed and it would be ready on Wednesday.

Wednesday comes and go and I get an email stating it would be ready today "at the earliest' as it still needs to be cleaned and repaired and that the part that was supposedly ordered on Monday had just come in. Okay, you know I am waiting for delivery, why wasn't the part overnighted?

First question, why the **** hasn't it been cleaned over the past week? I mean really, the car should have been prepped and ready to go as soon as the part came in. I know this because it is the policy at the dealership my Wife works at, a rival dealership to the one we're going to FWIW (I'll explain if asked, but we were upfront as to where she works).

Second question, am I being an unreasonable jerk if I demand this car be ready for me to take delivery on today. A week seems like more than enough time, especially when I know how this would have been handled at my wife's dealership. They would have written up a "We Owe" for the work to be done when the part came in and finished delivery. I don't think I am being unfair to demand they bump some other service appointments to finish this car, like should have been done a week ago.

To make things better, the sales person has reminded me 3 times that I need to be patient because I am getting a sweet deal and cites the car being underpriced. First thing, they are basing how far it is underpriced by rating it in excellent condition on Kelly Blue Book, which is most certainly is now, whereas they attempted to devalue my car because of some damage. Mind you, the damage on my car is less prevolent, but I still ended up getting full KBB for it. If she reminds me of this one more time I am filing a complaint with her supervisor. Oh well, my wife took the Purchase Contract and copied it to distribute at her dealership because it shows that some of their documentation fees are twice that of her dealership. Needless to say, this whole story will be making its way to her dealership, I've even told her she should pitch this to the owner as their next advertisement. They know she works at their primary rival, wouldn't you think that would mean they'd treat us a little bit better so we don't have this ammunition for her dealership to use? That just seems like common business sense to me.

            Well MassNole...people are idiots.

I have a gym that was "opening" last Monday. Nope, next Monday. Well on Monday I go to the other Peak Fitness and they're like "Tomorrow".

It's Thursday and it's not open. It's extremely frustrating. Tell me a date, stick to it, I'm already a member, quit the BS.

You getting a good deal shouldnt be a reason to hold this up, not your fault you capitalized on their mistake.

Did you drop the fact that your a lawyer on them yet? "Im gonna have to contact my lawyer (picks up phone and begins talking to himself)"

I go to this pizza place here at school where you just buy slices, and I ask the guy for 2 slices of pepperoni. He tells some other girl, she gets me one, and then hands the 2nd one to someone else and then walks away. I tell the guy I asked for 2, and he gets me my 2nd one and tells the girl she gave my other slice to someone else. She points at me and is like "I put it up there and he didn't take it." Look, it's not a big deal at all that you messed up, but don't blame it on me and act like I'm ****ing ********.

I ended up backing out after finding out how grossly they misstated the gas mileage the vehicle got and my intuition kicked in that something was wrong.

I see what you're saying, but it's reasons like this that I never put in special orders at fast food places. I rarely do it at restaurants as well, but if you ask for something other that what those minimum-wage monkeys are trained to do, chances are you're not getting what you asked for.

Plus, I worked in a fast food place once and let me tell you all this in case you didn't already know: Everybody who is preparing your food is in a bad mood. You come in with some crazy special order and you might as well be asking for extra saliva with a side of hair. Not everybody will mess your order up on purpose but I've seen it happen enough where, say a guy says "no tomatoes, light mayo and ketchup" well you're just as likely to get extra tomatoes, no ketchup and heavy mayo. Keep it simple and everybody's happy.

That's not true everywhere. I don't mind doing special orders, what I do hate is when people use the "I eat here all the time" like they should get special treatment. You eat fast food all the time???? ORLY???? You're the only person that does that. The only thing that gets on my nerves is "light mayo or ketchup", either get ketchup, mayo, mustard or don't but, most likely, you're going to fuss about the level of sauce on the burger. Going back to the i eat here all the time thing. That actually makes me want to screw up your burger so you never eat there again, because fast food is gross and unhealthy and shouldn't be eaten more than once a week.

Oh and before I forget, I'm not a monkey and I don't make minimum wage. I actually got accepted to a few colleges but I wanted to work instead of go to school.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Went to McDonald's today. I ordered the same, $4.24 order that I always order the one or two times a week I go there... but I made one mistake this time. A critical mistake. I went through.... the Drive-Thru.

First, I waited in line for about 10 minutes. Then, I waited at the little speaker-box thing for about 10 minutes. Then, some idiot in a Suburban tried to cut in front of me in line after we had both already ordered (this McD's has two different lines that merge, and I had ordered first, but he pulled out ahead of me). Then, I sat at the pay window for about 10 minutes as the worker there tried to tell me that he was "down with the customers" and asked me if I was "goin' out to get ****ed up tonight". Finally, I pulled up to the second window, exhausted and hungry, but grateful that I had survived.

I was handed my food, and without even looking at it, I drove away as fast as possible.

                              Big mistake, son!

My order was: 2 double cheeseburgers (just ketchup), 1 small fry, 1 small Powerade

I got: 2 Double Quarter Pounders w/ cheese (everything except ketchup), 1 apple pie, 1 large sweet tea

I don't even want to know what had to have been going on for them to castrate my order that badly. I ate one of the burgers, gave the other one to a homeless guy along with the apple pie, and drank the tea. Good thing I like sweet tea.

Driving on I-84 Eastbound from NY through CT towards Waterbury. It's only two lanes and there are so many damn truckers out there who try to pass each other in the left lane. If you're a car out there it's hopeless. Every couple of miles you'll have to come to a complete stop for no reason other than the fact that the truck drivers are a-holes. You'll be going 40-50 mph the entire time.
The stretch of 84 that I usually drive (heading east from Orange County until the 684 exit) isn't that bad. Yeah, there are some truckers that love passing in the left-lane and don't move to quick but traffic moves decently. I just hate the 55 mph speed limit

Guys who don't wipe down benches after using that. That **** is nasty man- there are guys who sweat like Patrick Ewing and their whole neck sweat residue is still on the bench. Not only is it nasty but stuff like ringworm loves growing on moist surfaces like that. I've almost become reflexive with wiping down benches with antibacterial stuff they have in my gym before I use them.
