I always lock all my doors on cars and @ home, but my wife has this bad habit of not locking the van at times. It irritates the **** out of me.

A history book I haven't used? A pencil? My school parking permit? Or maybe that stack of gum I keep in my cup holder.

There is nothing in my car worth stealing. Not to mention the light that lightens up my entire driveway. If they have the balls to break into my car with the light on them, they deserve to steal whatever they can get their hands on.

I always lock my doors regardless of where I am at.

Same here no matter what man. My car is always locked. I could go home, park in the driveway and know that I just need to run in get something and leave again, my car is locked.

people steal stuff for any reason. I had a neighbor who had his ac unit stolen in his backyard because apparently addicts recycle the metals and copper wires for cash. Kind of strange that recycling centers let meth heads turn in whole AC units for money, as you'd think that would raise some flags.

i would love to see a meth head trucking down the street with an ac unit on his back running his *** to exchange it.

It's not very hard to open an unlocked door and turn the car on, regardless of a light. Then again, I'm not a fan of making it easy for people to take things.

Anyhow, I lock my car doors pretty much everywhere.

It's not very hard to open an unlocked door and turn the car on, regardless of a light. Then again, I'm not a fan of making it easy for people to take things.

I've never hotwired a car before, but I assume it's difficult. I doubt someone would risk sitting in a car under a spotlight trying to hotwire it. Especially since If I hear my door open, I just open my window and look down.

I doubt that if anyone was going to steal a car that they would make so much noise opening the door that you would be able to hear it and have time to run outside.

I don't know, I'm just not afraid to leave it unlocked in my driveway. I never leave it unlocked outside of my driveway. I guess I just feel comfortable with it unlocked in the drive way. But knowing my luck, someone will break in tonight.

Yup me too, only takes 2 seconds to lock your doors. If you think of it this way - its partly your fault if something gets stolen because your doors are locked. I dont give anyone an opportunity to steal anything. If they break a window (which has happened to me about 16 yrs ago, but nothing was stolen) then nothing you can do.

I agree with you, granted they may steal ****, but you don't want to make it easy for crooks.
