Since I take burglary/stolen car reports all week long I've seen what havoc scumbags can cause. I tell every single person I come into contact with, the best things you can do are lock your gates, put motion lights in your backyard, and put some sort of bar in your sliding glass door. Burglars hate having to climb over gates/walls, they hate lights, and they hate having to work to get into a house.

Just flipped the power off for the section I was working on. Unhooked the lights that were standard on the house. Then connected the wires back up to the motion lights, affixed them to the house, and flipped the power back on. Then you can set sensitivity, range, and how long they stay on. There is usually a test feature so even during the day you can walk around and see where it picks you during the install. Mine in the backyard is in a L shape corner so it hits on anybody that would come around either corner. In the front they cover the driveway, a little into the street, and the corner of my house. I have them set for 3 minutes in the front, and 1 minute in the backyard.

I would recommend them to anyone who wants a little extra security around the house, as well as instant light when you pull into the driveway when it's dark.

sounds easy. I'm going to do all the flood lights around my house (on 3 corners) plus the front porch one.

I meant to say my car was stolen but I was kind of drunk when I made this thread so I said robbed for some stupid reason. Anyway, it was a 1991 ford tempo so it isnt like its too big of a lose, but never the less, people should keep their hands off whats not theirs. The thing about it is that it was parked under a light near my home and I always leave a living room light on that can be seen from the driveway so people will think someone is always up. I live out in the boondocks where things like this just dont happen, and when I talked to an investigator even he found it hard to believe because he said things like that dont happen out where you live. What bothers me most is the idea that someone is sneaking around my yard late at night with those kind of things in mind. Im starting to wonder if its anybody who knows me that did it, but anybody who knows me, knows I have a house full of guns and Im usually a night owl. So that would have to be pretty brave of someone who knows me. Well from now on Im locking up everything I own.

People that don't lock their doors might as well want to put a big sign on their house with their credit card # written all over. It's the same thing...

I live in the ghetto.....nuff said.

Although I used to live in the boondocks where people did leave their car and house doors open 24/7. If I was a crook, I know the first place to get some easy merchandise at.

Somebody just had there window smashed out in front of my building yesterday so locked doors means nothing. If you dont have an alarm system, you're screwed.

Man where I grew up Alarm systems just meant you got robbed in the middle of the night. No biggie.

Most alarms were cheap anyway.... bust the window, pop the hoodie, snip snip.... alarm go bye bye.

Don't try this at home kids....

Plus 85% of the car alarms where I'm at are always that cheap generic alarm that simulates police and ambulance sirens. And they're usually sensitive as well so they often go off with the wind blows to hard or when loud music rolls past. It gets the point where if you do here the alarm, you ignore it and wait for it to go off on its own. Those are the most meaningless alarm systems in the world.

I just got my car back!!!

They found it in a real bad neighborhood and the cool thing is that its in the exact same shape it was when it was stolen. They didnt even try to get into the trunk. Makes me think someone just needed a ride to get somewhere. Im locking that sucker up for now own. I cant believe they found it so quick.
