Anything can cause cancer because cancer is freaking random. Cancer happens to people that don't even do things cancer related. It just happens.

So why even concern yourself with staying away from carcinogens? Everything is a carcinogen.
I'm just waiting for "work could possibly lead to cancer".

While I understand what you're saying, there actually is logic behind this one.

Exactly, dude. It goes without saying that it's a good idea to stay away from things that are blatantly bad for you, and that proper diet and exercise blah blah blah ... but it's like, my dad died of cancer, right? Drank and smoked his entire life (well, you know what I mean) and yet doctors told him his lungs and liver were both fine. Colon cancer. It's like, WTF? Same **** happened to a cousin of mine: smoked two packs a day for however long, winds up with some ******* brain tumor, not emphysema or lung cancer. Uncle died of Lou Gehrig's disease and never smoked or drank a day in his life. It sounds cynical and even silly, but when your number's up, your number's up. I'm not going to live in any sort of perpetual fear.

So neither one of you believe that there is anyway to decrease your chance of getting cancer?

            No one does.

Most of it has to do with genetics dude.

My wifes grandmother died a few months ago from breast cancer. Her cousin is dying from cancer as I type this (it is terminal).

My wifes mother had cancer in her throat (she survived and is alive and cancer free as of now).

My wifes aunt had breast cancer (she survived and is alive and cancer free as well).

Cancer comes when it wants to come, nothing you can do about it.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I believe there are only ways to increase the likelihood.

Not everyone that smokes cigarettes will get lung cancer but it's obvious that smoking cigarettes could (key word could) increase the likelihood of getting lung cancer.

All of these cereals, meals, drinks that tell us "Decreases the likelihood of cancer" are basically saying, "We didn't add anything that would bump it up."

That's why cancer is my biggest fear. I'm not saying I think about it every living minute. But I'm aware of the fact that I could live an extremely healthy life and wake up one day with cancer.

Nearly all cancers are caused by abnormalities in the genetic material of the transformed cells. These abnormalities may be due to the effects of carcinogens, such as tobacco smoke, radiation, chemicals, or infectious agents. Other cancer-promoting genetic abnormalities may be randomly acquired through errors in DNA replication, or are inherited, and thus present in all cells from birth. Complex interactions between carcinogens and the host genome may explain why only some develop cancer after exposure to a known carcinogen. New aspects of the genetics of cancer pathogenesis, such as DNA methylation, and microRNAs are increasingly being recognized as important.

You can't get more random than that. Anything else in this world can only be acquired by doing something stupid (exception being born with the disease) HIV/AIDS? That's not random. You put that on yourself by making bad decisions. Other STDs? You slept with that dirty chick. That's your fault. Heart Disease? Blood pressure is a leading factor. If not there's a good chance you can get checked up and find out if you're a candidate for Heart Disease and you can prepare to prevent it (though this is the number one cause of death in America. Most heart disease is genetic and you can't always prevent High blood pressure or cholesterol.)

When it comes to cancer, your cells make that decision.
