I haven't broke anything but I had pain that prolonged everyday for like 6 months. I had extremley severe psorisis. It's dry flaky skin, which usually comes in patches but mine spead on my body like wildfire. I didn't have health insurance when it first started so it was hell for me for months. I looked like a monster covered in white flaky skin.

I would say 85% of my body was cover in plaque psorisis. Taking a shower was very painful and the constant itch every minute of the day drove me crazy. And if i scratched I would bleed. It was mentally painful as well because I didn't want to go out in public because I would shed skin all over the place and I had to cover up my body and wear a hat because it was on my face and scalp. I had to wear long sleeve shirts and pants during hot summers in Arizona and that was uncomfortable. I had to take medical leave from work because I couldn't stay still. If I was tense in anyway the "itch" would get worse and worse.

I couldn't sleep for months because it was so irritating. Luckily I got insurance and fought my hardest to have them cover a medication called Enbrel. It was a shot I had to inject myself with every other day. Without insurance it would have cost me 5 grand a month to take care of it. In about 2 months I cleared up and came back to normal. 2006 was the worst year of my life and I'm glad I am over with it. It comes back on my legs sometimes but it not nearly as bad as before.

I now am covered in scars but if I tan you hardly see them. I'm just glad that it is over with because throughout that whole time I would never talk to girls or go out with friends.

              Here's a bump.

Just had my worst sports injury on Saturday. Tore a ligament in my left ankle... the good news is it's not broken (and the people at the ER were shocked that they didn't see a break in the X-Ray).

The worst part was that I waited until Sunday to get it checked out and at 5am Sunday some douche pulled the fire alarm in my dorm, so I had to be helped all the way down from the fourth floor unable to put any weight on the ankle. And then it was raining outside. I had finally overcome the pain enough to fall asleep, too.

When I listened to some of American Idol contenders...
But seriously, I once (2.24.95) played b-ball and fell on my hand and my back - and broke my left hand. But I also hurt my tale bone so it hurt so much in 2 places at the same time.

Dude, I had the same exact thing. It knocked me out of my senior season of HS basketball after years and years of hard work. I moved into the starting forward spot and everything on our state-ranked team, and had it all taken away by that injury.

Anyways, one day I noticed I had pain in my leg. I thought I pulled a muscle, but it only hurt when I would bend my back. I spent a few weeks going to practice in pain, until the doctor told me I had the spondylolisthesis in my L5/S1, the last disc of the back. That was in September. I didn't get surgery until June/July. Probably some of the worst months of my life. By the time I got surgery, I was walking around leaning forward at a 45 degree angle, just so the bulging disc in my back wouldn't pinch my sciatica nerve.

Surgery recovery was a bitch, too. I was in Miami Jackson Hospital for the longest night of my life. I wasn't allowed to get out of bed and I couldn't get myself to pee in those clear plastic bottles while sitting down. All those years of training myself not to pee in my bed could not get undone in just a single night. Then the weeks I spent at home in bed were pretty tough too. I'm glad it's all done, and I haven't had any back problems since... but out of all the injuries you could have, I think the back has to be one of the worst.

I don't like complaining about injuries, but that one was a bastard.

I saw Acid talking about ear tube surgeries... I had about 7 or 8 myself when I was growing up. A lot of my memories as a child involve those surgeries. I remember as a kid having ear infections so bad that I'd bleed out my ears. I eventually grew out of it, but I do have some hearing loss.

And my last tough guy story... I broke my hand in the first half of an intramural basketball game last year, played through it and ended up having like 25 or 30, which is probably my lifetime high, and led our team to a victory after being down double digits. When I went to sign our signup sheet after the game, I couldn't even grip the pencil. I got a cast put on a few days later. I felt like a badass for a while until I realized that it was intramurals and no one cares.

Some of y'all have some real horror stories though. Eyes being ripped up, squatting so much weight that your ankles and knees snap, testicular surgery (my dad had testicular cancer and survived, it was tough to see him go through recovery), total foot reconstruction, skin diseases, kidney stones... I wouldn't wish any of this stuff on anybody. Those sound like moments of sheer terror and pain, and for others weeks or months of it.

I had to get an appendectomy two years ago. After the surgery I couldn't go the bathroom the next morning so they had to insert a catheder. Yeah, having a tube shoved up your peehole isn't very fun.

Why do they put that damn tube inside of your penis instead of just around it???

I didn't have that problem when I had my appendectomy. It doesn't sound like a fun experience.
