Craig Hansen, St. John's (Boston Red Sox)
Ryan Zimmerman, UVA (Washington Nationals - He was my host on my visit to UVA)
B.J. Upton (Tampa Bay Devil Rays)
Justin Upton (Arizona Diamondbacks)
Andrew Miller, UNC (Detroit Tigers)
Billy Butler (Kansas City Royals)

There are more I just can't think of them.

he's not a convict. he is wanted for questioning in the assaults. i called him last spring to try to talk some sense into him but he pretended to not know me. im not sure i should give his name though.

Well hopefully he finishes out okay and gets his mind back.

Sad part is he had amazing talent. he was the 3rd pick in the 3rd round for the sox. pitched in some spring training games with the sox. then he got traded to the angels and just lost it. Although im not totally surprised, he came from a really rough family. his dad beat him and was an alcoholic. I treid to help him but he just wouldnt let me.

Sadly these stories are not all that uncommon in baseball. Not about the being a convict part...more about the wasted talent.

Quite a few.

I did get dunked on by Harold Miner in a summer league game. Tracy Murray killed us that summer also.

Ah, baby Jordan. He was good. I played with the biggest joke of a H.Man winner, Gino Toretta. Also, played against Chis Singleton and Demarco Farr. I can't remember the rest, there were a lot.

That and blowning out there arms. My friend Chris Gambs and Scott Harrison had all the talent in the world, but blew out their arms.

It is common in all sports...........................it really sucks that the great players end up wasting their talent.

wait.....i dont know if this counts.....but I played in one of the AND 1 selection games and got crossed kindve scandelously to be honest lol

Well hopefully in the future he will see the light and get help or let you help him so he can rebound from his rough childhood.

I've played soccer with 2 people who play (or will play) in the Mexican Primera (top division of Mexican soccer).

I've never played against any current pro athletes though.

Not yet as i'm 16, but our team has played against lots of kids who have played d1 college ball, and a few got drafted, can't think of there names, we have about 3 players who may get drafted out of high school, and probably 7 could go D1, a few would have to walk on though, we are pretty deep.

Played against a VERY young (like 9 years old) Patrick Kane in a tournament in Buffalo. Made the smooth move of snagging the gamesheet after he put in eight goals on us.

And while he's scoring goals for my favourite team and is the guy my avatar, I'm sitting here on an internet message board. Kinda makes me feel bad

Justin Verlander... I think that's about it though. Was a teammate of the starting LT for UNC right now, also played against quite a few D1 BBall players. But can't really think of any other pro athletes. My brother faced Michael Robinson in the state playoffs. He was a beast, great LB in HS as well.

Let's see, back in high school I played basketball against Salim Stoudamire quite a bit in practices when I was a freshman. I also played with Kevin Love, though I have no idea how old he was. His father Stan, was my coach in middle school.

I also grew up with Oregon State pitcher Mike Stutes. We would always go at it on different basketball teams.. and baseball of course.

More recently I played against Illinois freshman guard Quinton Watkins.
