If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Thanksgiving: Anyone Deep Fry their Turkey?
It's probably the best turkey i've had on Thanksgiving. I haven't done it personally but my friend has and I believe its cooked in a much shorter time as well.Comment

Re: Thanksgiving: Anyone Deep Fry their Turkey?
Crap, this is turning into an expensive little fiasco. About $30 just for the peanut oil. I may have been able to find it cheaper, but GD. At least I was able to borrow a deep friar. We're still going to make gravy, but it won't have direct drippings from the bird, but will still use gliblets and the neck.
The one thing I can say, is this should be a lot easier and less stressful, since I won't have to sit and baby sit the oven for the better part of the morning.Comment

Re: Thanksgiving: Anyone Deep Fry their Turkey?
Its definately faster to deep fry a turkey. Its like 3 minutes per pound. Definately moist when deep fried as some people do a bad job cooking turkeys in the oven.Comment
