I just deep fried one Friday night...daaayum it was bananas
I injected it w/ my homemade wet Cajun rub, and deep fried it @ 350 for 45 minutes...& it was all over then...I'm talkin' mouth waterin' fellaz

            Cajun Wet Rub

            1 Tbsp Paprika
            1Tbsp Dry mustard
            1 Tbsp Onion powder
            1 Tbsp Garlic powder
            1 Tbsp Red pepper
            1 Tbsp White pepper
            1 Tbsp Sage
            1Tbsp Thyme
            1 Tbsp Shrimp boil
            1 Tbsp black pepper
            1 Tbsp Chile powder
            1/2 Cup Worcestershire
            1 bottle of Italian dressing

Mix all ingredients w/ Italian dressing ..to desired thickness...i usually use 1 cup ...really depends on how thick you want it

Once my uncle did it last year and I tried it...I'll never go back to "traditional" turkey again.

              Unreal crazy deliciousness.

That makes me sad bk! Hopefully you'll find a little time to spend with family and friends the day before or after at the very least.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

It's probably the best turkey i've had on Thanksgiving. I haven't done it personally but my friend has and I believe its cooked in a much shorter time as well.

Crap, this is turning into an expensive little fiasco. About $30 just for the peanut oil. I may have been able to find it cheaper, but GD. At least I was able to borrow a deep friar. We're still going to make gravy, but it won't have direct drippings from the bird, but will still use gliblets and the neck.

The one thing I can say, is this should be a lot easier and less stressful, since I won't have to sit and baby sit the oven for the better part of the morning.

Its definately faster to deep fry a turkey. Its like 3 minutes per pound. Definately moist when deep fried as some people do a bad job cooking turkeys in the oven.

Also man be careful deep frying a turkey. When you first drop it in stuff is going to fly all over, make sure nothing around you is flamable.
