This superiority pissing match is going to be a disaster.

I'm late but I haven't heard of that place either although I've seen a couple of those people before.

Wow that's the old maddenmania? Those people are hilarious.

                  Ummm...as of 11:08:

DSM: Currently Active Users: 436 (249 members and 187 guests)
OS: Currently Active Users: 248 (207 members and 41 guests)

Although that doesn't account for front page traffic, I suppose.

                    Re: OS merging with DSM

MM and DSM both got a lot worse when the influx of 12 year olds whining about Madden 07 came along last year.

I don't even own one of this year's sports games, I'm mostly on OS for the NBA/College Hoops/NFL/College Football discussion and on DSM for the Soap Box, NFL Discussion, and the Game Room, which is where people talk about non-sports games. Seriously, you can't judge DSM based on the Madden forum, its full of immature brats, the best part of DSM is the Miscellaneous section.

it's just a mashup of front page content. I personally never read front page content, and just click my forum bookmark to get here. That doesn't mean new people don't get here through solid front page content. I guess DSM and OS feel pooling their resources isn't a bad idea. I mean, their front page is slick and regularly updated. OS apparently gets more hits, but the front page could use some work, like getting the clutter more organized, and giving it some flair. It's not a bad thing for OS to use the opportunity to add these by picking up another community and their contributors. The guys in charge here could have got all lazy and just accepted ad revenue and not cared. Again, I don't even read these, but those are just immediate observations from someone with a minor in marketing.

Message boards are like the human race: There are an equal number (percentage-wise) of a--holes in all races.
The big difference between DSM and OS is our Soap Box.

Not just the box, but the whole MISC forum, IMO.

                              Re: OS merging with DSM

Who cares who gets more visitors? All I know is that I don't want a forum full of immature people. OS, for the most part, has a group of posters who post pretty good stuff. They are knowledgeable about sports...sometimes too good though. They depress me whenever new sports games come out.

The general crowd is older, which actually does mean more mature. Even the youngin's have caught on to this maturity.

The sense of humor rarely gets out of hand and there aren't many "battles" so to speak and it's a good place to come talk about sports and get a couple laughs.

Not too many on OS are here for "status" or whatever trying to be a big shot on an internet forum. Just think of how stupid that just sounded.

Anywho...I just hope maturity and quality posts stay the norm. The 24th letter I didn't say quality threads...so feel free to keep on keepin' on!
