Re: Ever have a reoccouring dream?
At the ripe old age of 43, I'm still having the same dream over and over again. It's not every night or anything but it occurs frequently. I've been having the same dream since I was in grade school, aloooooooooooong freakin time ago !!!!
Basically I'm in someone else's home and it's always a different home each time that I'm unfamiliar with. There's never anyone home and I'm always by myself. Every home has an unusually long hall way with an intensely lit (bright white) room at the very end of the hallway. Everything else around me is completely dark. Every time I dream this, I end up doing a very impressive tumbling (gmynastic) pass down the entire length of the hallway. I always wake up when my olympic worthy tumbling routine enters the brightly lit room.
Guys, I've never been into gymnastics my entire life. I pretty much like to keep my feet firmly planted on the ground at all times. In fact the closest thing to a flip or somersault that I've ever done in real life was a very ugly alcohol induced back flip off of a friend's deck into the bushes below....... LOL!!!
This dream has led me to doctor's of all types in search of an explanation. Still don't understand the importance and or significance of this dream.......very strange !!!

Re: Ever have a reoccouring dream?
Since you seem to be more knowledgeable about dreams can you tell me about the reoccurring dream I keep having about a nuclear holocaust?I'm extremely fascinated by dreams and read about them, study of them, whatever whenever I get the chance.
I personally believe that all dreams have a deeper connection, no matter what it is you're dreaming about. Some are fun, some are trying to make it easier for you to cope with a fear, some are just downright scary. But they serve a meaning.
The ones I find the easiest to analyze are similar to 24th's dream (and yes I'm no expert but I've done the analyzing thing for years now and while it's only my opinion on a dream I've found that most of the time the dreamer agrees with my thoughts). Anyway, the freefalling type dreams are strange to me.
I don't know if it's that people don't remember anything else about them that makes it difficult (and how can I expect you to when you're falling? That's pretty much the only thing you're "consciously" aware of during the dream) or if I just have no clue. Probably more the latter since again I'm no expert so I won't pretend to be.
I'll give it a shot, though, basing it only on falling which I don't think is enough information. The only thing I can attribute to this type of dream is a lack of control. Falling is one of those things that a person just can't stop unless they land. You can stop typing, you can jump in the air and land, you can walk around. If you're falling, there's no control. I believe that's the biggest fear of falling because you probably wouldn't think about how you'll die. It's more like, "I can't stop this."
So with that in mind, I can only ask if during the times you've had these freefalling dreams did you ever feel like you were recently in a situation that was out of your hands? Or if you feared that someone might make a decision that you couldn't control? It could be as simple as interviewing for a job and constantly thinking about it. "I did everything in that interview, right? Yea. I was nice. I was direct. I have a great background. But it doesn't matter. There's other applicants. The interviewer will decide. I can't do anything about it anymore." Some people might have a fear that they can't control this outcome and it's a legit fear. Again, though, it could be anything. Every fear is different from one person to the next.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

I forgot about this. I'll respond but not tonight."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Ever have a reoccouring dream?
I just had the same dream last night that I did like a year ago.
I was playing in the World Cup for Brazil (don't know why Brazil), and scored a goal from midfield. It was pretty sick.Comment

I remember when I was younger I would always have a dream about flying in a space craft with Mario. It was nuts because we were in space, but in a cave at the same time.
Man, those were the days.Comment

Check your closet for Chuck Norris before you go to bed.I keep having the same freaking dream over and over and over.....and it makes NO SENSE!
Im standing in the middle of my high school gym right on the logo
it's completely dark.
all the sudden a spot light turns on and someone comes up to me (its been my old coach, my best friend, a little sister from bioshock and my ex- girlfirend)
and says "you need to score" or something like that....
all the sudden the shot clock turns on and I have to find the ball and score before time runs out or I die.....I can never even find the ball!!!!
this is driving me nuts...."The best thing about being a football player at Alabama...winning...winning." -Mark Barron
