How dare police officers and their family members follow the law

I just found this website and it's hilarious but sad, it's filled with stories of police officers complaining about other officers giving them or their family members tickets for breaking the law.

I am a police officer with the Port Authority NY/NJ Police Department.
I was coming home to NJ with my family from Myrtle Beach Driving up Interstate 95 when I was pulled over for Speeding by a Va State Trooper (Tpr Shehan # 5667)

I identified Myself as a Law Enforcement Officer with The Port Authority and The trooper asked me again for my license, reg and insurance card. I handed over my license etc and the trooper stated he pulled me over for doing 82MPH in a 65MPH.

When the trooper came back to my car he stated he wrote me a summons for RECKLESS Driving because I was driving over 80MPH.
When I asked about the trooper extending Professional Courtesy the trooper stated he gives Courtesy "BUT NOT AT THAT SPEED"

The thing that burns me up is that not only did he not extend courtesy to me after My dept extended courtesy to his agency at the World Trade Center after 9/11, He wrote me a summons for RECKLESS driving which is $ 176.00 instead of speeding (17 MPH over speed limit would have cost me $85.00).
One morning after working a double shift at the Florida State Prison in Indiantown , Florida
I was traveling my regular route home. The drive is about 45 minutes so after two shifts I was in a hurry to get home. Yes I was going over to limit by 15 miles an hour. I was traveling on a two lane highway out in the boondocks.
Low and behold a state trooper traveling in the opposite direction had clocked me on his radar. He spun off the road and quickly hiy his lights to come after me.
I immediatly pulled off the road and waited for him to arrive.
I exited the vehicle in full Florida State Prison uniform. The first words from his mouth were "That uniform doesnt mean **** to me". After that there was no conversation and I recieved my ticket for 15 over.
I advised him that if in the future ,per chance, I was traveling by and observered him rolling around in a ditch with someone that his uniform wouldnt mean **** to me.
My brother was pulled over twice in Downers Grove IL once for speeding and once for running a red light. Ofc. Miller #12 wrote my brother for the red light, #502 a part timer wrote him for speeding. When my brother advised both Ofcs. that his brother was a PO two towns over and that he was close friends with a Dupage County Sheriffs detective both Ofcs. replied by saying " I dont know those guys pay your ticket".

PLEASE post this as these towns need to be shamed for what they are doing.

Oh yeah, my boy is CT state trooper and there's an expectation for cops to not write up other officers.

Which is BS. If you're breaking the law, it shouldn't matter if you're a cop or not.

I can't believe the one guy said if he was rolling around in a ditch he wouldn't care. How about don't break the law and think you can get away with it because you're a police officer and you won't get a ticket next time.

You should read the forum, it's sad how they actually complain about being held accountable.

One of my buddies is a volunteer firefighter here in CT and got pulled over for speeding once. He didn't even mention it, but when he was reaching for his license the cop noticed his badge, commented on it and told him to obey the speed limit. No ticket or warning or anything.

There was an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond with this. Ray got pulled over, Robert showed his badge and the cop still gave the ticket. Good stuff.

Law Enforcement is a type of fraternity. I went to school with tons of law enforcement officers and if they pulled me over, I doubt they would give me a ticket. I get pulled over now and still don't get tickets. Oh well. I am surprise that some people are surprised.
