Depends on how long ago the infraction occurred. If we're talking five or 10 years ago, that water has long passed under the bridge. You would think both guys have matured since then.

If it was only a year or 18 months ago, that might be a different story.

Once that is gone it's hard to get it back. The friend was in the wrong and should have told him a long time ago.

And don't give me that heat of the party BS either. People always want to make excuses.

If my friend did this to me I would be upset because I would feel like I couldn't trust him anymore and I wouldn't want him alone with my wife. Not sure if I would take him out of my wedding or not, but the trust would be gone and it probably would never be the same.

How is someone supposed to be your "best" friend, yet he has no issue with going behind your back like that?

What happens when you come home one day and he's at your place waiting for you (completely innocent in this case)? Could you completely trust him around your wife after what had happened in the past?

agree 100%. He went behind Joe's back, plus only told about it when Joe was engaged and John figured he was in the clear. That's a bitch move and would make me do the same thing. It doesn't matter how long ago it was, since the lie and deceit have been there just as long. Why have friends you can't trust?

I gotta side with Joe on this one, its totally up to him if he wants to forgive him, but man thats a big violation of trust. If it is an ex, then its no big deal, but he was messing around while they were together, you just cant trust that friend. You could still be cool, but its understandable if he doesn't feel like thats his best friend that he could confide in and trust. You break that bond with a close friend, that friend justifiably reconsiders how close that friendship actually is.

That's irrelevant to me. She's his ex for a reason and the only thing I'd be mad about is that "John" didn't tell me sooner. Let's be real here. When you're sloppy drunk, how many men would turn down sex from a hot girl let alone harmlessly kissing her?

I don't know about trusting him in the future, but people make mistakes. It happens and it's in the past.

I can't believe so many people think he did the right thing. He needs to get over this its really no big deal especially if its a one time thing. All they did was make out and he even owned up for it, he could've never told him. This guy is a drama queen, hell the other guy shouldn't want to be in his wedding after this. I know the issue here is broken trust but maybe the chick was just a skank that came on to the friend, thats where the anger should be directed. It's awfully tough for a guy to fight a woman throwing herself at him, and he only made out with her so he obviously realized it was wrong or else he wouldn've taken it further.

I need to know specifics of how long ago this was like pk. If this was 5-10 years down the road and it wasn't that serious of a relationship he should get over it, and thank his bud for effing that one up before they went down the aisle. Sure he should have been pissed at him for doing that, but everybody deserves a 2nd chance, and the people that say he doesn't just remember that when you screw up and have to ask for one. We don't know the whole situation, because I feel the whole thing hasn't been told by the OP. We need more info.

he only admited to making her with her, could of did more or might have did more. (he also could have felt guilty and told part of the story but not the whole story to help get it off his chest but not come off like a complete jerk)..she could of been on her period and that could have been the reason it didn't go any further.

If his best friends girlriend is throwing herself at him and he think she is skank, how about telling his friend what she was doing instead of going along with it.
