Surprisingly, it seems as if the overall depression of the thread has once again been turned around. Husker is happy, I'm content, Acid is confused, the shy people are thinking about turning over a new leaf, etc.Comment

I think my confession about being in a depressed mood started this little trend of spilling your guts in this thread. Which is a good thing I guess.Twitter

If I ever start to feel down I say to myself...

Everyone has bad things happen to them, some more then others. But it's about picking yourself back up and keep plugging away. Hey, if life didn't have obstacles, it would be awfully boring.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills

I'm still pissed I didn't get with the chick from the weekend before break, but hey barring any relationships on her end (yeah, I'd probably cheat on a girlfriend for this chick just to know I succeeded) I'll try again after break.
Like I said - definitely content at the moment. Just want to get past these finals and I'll be happy.Comment

LOL, I do that all the time too. The person I talk the most **** to is myself. "Don't be a pussie" is my personal fav.
Plus it does help you keep things in perspective, most people fail to realize how lucky they are and how many positives they have going for them. I have a small sign above my bedroom door that says "Today is a blessing", I look at it every morning when I walk out of my room. Even if it's a rough stretch, I'm alive, I have a job, I'm healthy and my future is in my own hands. That's a pretty good deal when you look at the big picture - alot more important than if my favorite team won, I'm in a cold stretch of playing ball or if I didn't get some girl I was chasing that weekend."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

As for the second part, that is definitely how I get over everything as quickly as I do. I'll be pissed/disappointed or whatever for a day or two about whatever it may be (your sports example and the example of "weekend girl" are actually both perfect for me recently) and then I realize that it could be so much worse. I keep reminding myself how lucky I was only months ago when I was thrown from the back of a car and landed on my head...and walked away with simply a concussion. It is amazing how lucky I am to have a good family, friends, my health and all of that and that is more important than any of the trivial things that get me down from time to time.Comment
