Victory was declared in the once hostile Anbar Province yesterday (though the media is too caught up in hurricane covereage...) as US troops pulled out and handed the province over to the Iraqis! Hopefully, more of this will happen and we'll be able to declare victory in Iraq finally!

Same here. Myself, you The GIGGAS, and a few others all got infractions in that thread. I need to stop talking politics on this site before I get myself banned!

I still don't see why we can't just talk on it and have some reasonable discussion on politics on here, and if idiots come in, just give them infractions or close the thread. I personally don't see what was so wrong with what I said.

Oh well, I can get some good political debate over at Who Needs Rules.

I just had a power cord go bad last month. A week later the battery went bad.

Fortunately everything is still under warranty and their service is next day delivery which is bad ***.

Finding a PSU-Michigan student section ticket is impossible. I found an Illinois ticket but I can't go since it's my best friend's birthday that day though...any PSU students on here that and have a Michigan ticket and don't want it, hit me up.

The C i'm glad that your parents are alright.

Anyways I spent the night watching Dirty Harry. AMC is playing all 5 of the Dirty Harry movies this week remastered and such in conjunction with the recent DVD set release. I've never seen any of the movies though i've tried watching the first one before.

I must say after watching the first DH movie that it was a pretty dark film....literally. Half the time the movie was in near complete darkness which made it quite hard for me to tell what's going on. The plot was "ripped from the headlines" as it dealt with a crazy sniper in San Fran who called himself the Scorpio. The movie itself went through too much set up and not enough story for my liking but I can see why it led to a sequel as the Dirty Harry character was living out the though processes of those, especially in San Fran who wanted to get the Zodiac.

I liked the foreshadowing done with one of DH's catch phrases in the movie. I won't give it away but it's basically the "are you feeling lucky punk" spiel. Dirty Harry was in some ways a modern send up of his "man with no name" as he really didn't talk all that much and had his own way of dispensing justice. It's also neat to see the whole "tough/nearly corrupt cop" character type in its birth pangs with this movie.

I can't quite say I recommend it as it drags at points but it does get ** stars and a recommendation on historical purposes alone. I plan to watch the rest of the movies this week.

Let me save you some time by telling you to avoid watching Sudden Impact.

That's what I'm thinking...I want to go up there that weekend and see a bunch of my friends, and they're sure as hell not giving up the tickets...even this one girl I know that goes there that isn't a huge football fan was like "no way, I'm not missing that one". I'll probably have to drop close to $200 even if I do find one too.

If not I have another friend to fall back on to score me a WVU-Auburn ticket
