    I'm teaching a brand new course at school called SAT Math Prep and in six weeks so far I've managed to bring 12 of my 21 students scores down from their initial diagnostic test to their latest practice test.

    Am I Teacher of the Year material or what?

        Good job, just remember if they were all that bright in the first place they wouldn't need the SAT prep course.
        ================================================== ===========

        So I have a dilemma on my hands. Today my old employer asked me if I would like to join their office. I would pay rent and utilities for my space but would have experienced attorneys to guide me. On the other hand I have formed a quasi-partnership with another young attorney but nothing in writing. Basically it would be the same situation either way, only with one I'd have someone to learn from as compared to learning as I go and I would go from generating all of my own business to getting referrals and some overflow work.

        I think it is best for my career and family to go with my old employer, but I would feel bad leaving my partner at this point.

        Advice?

          Been an expensive couple of days for me.

          Saturday I came home from the track to find my computer died on me. Spent some time trying to fix it, and decided it was a lost cause. $350 or so later I now have a working computer again.

          Yesterday I wake up to find one of my dogs biting his right rear leg. Not a big deal at first, until I wake up today to find a bump. So I take him to the vet, and $150 later there he's gotten a shot and some pills. Doesn't seem to be anything too serious, just a "regular" cyst, but it still sucks to see him chewing it all the time. I need to watch him and make sure he doesn't chew right through his skin. It's also freaked my other dog out, as he could tell something was wrong with him and he was going nuts.

                Is there any way you can bring your partner along with you to the firm?

                    Well if it was me, I would go to your old firm. You can learn more and that is good for your future. But that is a tough decision good luck with it.

                        I would assume the answer is no based on the wording of the email. Plus I worked with these people before and he hasn't, and I cannot speak for the quality of his work as of yet. I also have some reservations if he is committed as myself to do this.

                        Thank you. I talked to my Wife, Mother, and Mother-in-Law about this and all 3 said basically the same thing. I am going to meet with my old boss on Friday and see what is on the table.

                        With how my wife feels about that side of the family right now that might not be an unreasonable request. I would guess there isn't an ounce of fat on her body. But be warned, her mother works for he CIA.

                          I would do it, but it really have to come to you. If it doesn't work out don't blame all those people that gave you that advice. Or if you make it on your own decision then you have your self to blame along with those other. I think you what I mean.

                            Not that you need another opinion, but I'd go back to the old place.

                                Sweet that is a great job. My little cousin is doing the same thing. He was a server at a nice place and their bar is very nice. He is training right now. Good luck bro. I always thought it would be cool to be a bartender.
