      Re: OS Off Topic

...so I recently took over as producer/sports anchor of our radio station's morning show, replacing a guy who held this position for 8 years. I'm into my 3rd week and have grown completely tired of answering the phone and having people ask what happened to him.

If I could tell the truth, that'd be one thing, but I can't. All I can say is he's no longer employed here. What is it about a radio listener feeling entitled to private information between and employee and an employer?

Was Family Guy good? My wife was watching the NKOTB Behind the Music and Concert and I forgot to DVR Family Guy.

I thought KOTH wasn't very good. I don't like how none of the characters evolve.

Family Guy was hilarious. Cleveland was great this time. As was Stewie.

American Dad was very good as well. The sequence with Stan and his wife remembering puberty with their daughter had me rolling.

After you listen to a someone on the radio for a long time, you feel as if you know them. The same occurs when you watch a television show for quite some time, you feel as if you know the characters/actors. These people were simply used to this one guy, and when he left, they wondered what happened to him.

Not quite sure what's so "bad" about that.

I couldn't have put it better myself. There was a guy who used to work for the FAN here in Toronto who handled the baseball beat and also worked on the morning show for a bit. I thought he was pretty good then he disappeared. A couple years later I saw him doing some work for the CBC and now he's working as the traffic reporter on the morning show of another station.

Here's the kicker, one Sunday I was listening to the Golf Show on the FAN and one of the hosts who happens to be the longtime producer of the morning show said that the guy in question had a terrible temper and was more or less a prick off air. I had no idea how this came up as I only caught the tail end but now I know why the guy is a morning traffic reporter.

                    What a fall from grace.

Just got back from my parents. We had a New Year's Eve supper, along with my brother and his family and his wife's parents. Great food, my parents arguing, my nephews out of control...business as usual...

So I started painting my office today, I forgot a ladder and with 10' ceilings there was a lot I couldn't get to. I have an eye appointment tomorrow and the realization I need glasses. Wednesday I have an interview to be appointed as a public defender for the county in Juvenile Court, should be a sure thing (knock on wood).

So after losing Kobe, we decided to get another ferret. I'll get some pictures of him soon, his name is Blaize, and he is pretty much all white, with a small smudge of silver on his head and a silver tail. He is 14 weeks old and he has the biggest paws I have ever seen on a ferret. We had two 3 lb ferrets who when full grown had smaller paws than this little guy currently has. Paws are usually a good indicator of future size, and he is going to be a big, big ferret. He is amazing with our 6 year old female, he doesn't try to pounce her too often.

I haven't watched family guy yet. It's still sitting on the DVR.

Friend let me borrow first season of "It's always sunny in philadelphia", so I've been watching them.

I've also been kind of sick/congested lately, which is not good. Been drinking plenty of fluids and taking medications. Really feel better today than yesterday. Think the combination of me being worn out from the weekend with me getting little sleep really wore on the body yesterday.

Got a good nights rest last night and even worked out today, which is really trippy with a head cold going.

We'll see where tonight takes me. I can't wait to hop into my bed.
