So I gave in (again) and texted my best friend to apologize for stuff I shouldn't have to apologize for, and she's still being a ***** and won't answer me.

Dont apologize then and let her come to her senses while you have fun.

The joys of having sisters for nurses. I get a call from my oldest sister saying our dad is in the hospital with "chest pains". And she then proceeds to tell me to not worry or bother racing up to go to visiting hours cause its nothing. So everyone's just as calm as could be and the only worry is when to have the turkey ready for tomorrow.

Apparently its more of a pressure than a pain, so they're thinking it may just be a damaged vein or artery, but its definitely not his heart. Probably just something that happened when he hurt one of his shoulders numerous times and never got it fixed

Why in the world are you still friends with her?

Because when we aren't fighting, things go perfect...we talk all the time...and when we're fighting and not talking it just feels like something's not right. That's why I give in all the time, I don't want to think about what would happen if we weren't friends anymore.

I tried that for the last week, and I can't help but text her and see what happens.

It's just hard. I try to do stuff to keep my mind off of it, but nothing works. There's so many things that remind me of her it's not even funny. I drive by a Wal-Mart and Subway, it reminds me of her (we went there all the time). I hear certain songs, reminds me of her. I see Family Guy on TV, reminds me of her. You get the picture.

I've brought it up before, but I was more or less in the same pot

Things were great between us, we always hung out, always talked, always loved each others company, but one of us would do something the other didn't like, and we acted like a bunch of 12-year-olds. Neither one of us wanted to break the friendship off because, like you said, we didn't want to think of how things would be if the other wasn't around.

Finally I said screw it, sat her down, we talked, and I told her I didn't want her trying to call or contact me. It was the toughest thing I've ever done, but I did it. I lost my 4 best friends because of it, as they choose to stay friends with her over me, but I'm much happier now, and I'm a much better person thanks to this.

It's just hard. I try to do stuff to keep my mind off of it, but nothing works. There's so many things that remind me of her it's not even funny. That stuff still happens to me, and it's been...heck, I don't even remember anymore. 2-4 years, something like that. It sucks at times, but I deal with it.

She's attractive, I just don't want to make things any worse than they are now.

Things were great between us, we always hung out, always talked, always loved each others company, but one of us would do something the other didn't like, and we acted like a bunch of 12-year-olds. I couldn't do that...I'm too soft to do something like that. I'd seriously go into deep depression or something.

Ah man, I've got this song stuck in my head. They play it at my school's hockey games, but I don't know the name. It's some kind of techno/dance song, so it doesn't have many lyrics or else I'd google them. Something tells me it's popular now or was this summer. I know that's vague, but any ideas?

If I had the chance to do it over again 3 years ago, I probably would've handled things differently, but now we're way too far into it just to cut things off...not that I want to either.

I just feel like there'd be a hugeeeeee part of my life missing if we went our separate ways. Wouldn't have anyone I really trusted, wouldn't have anyone to tell everything to, and I'd have like no contact with females whatsoever.

Man, nearly the same thing happened to me. I was depressed for about half a year, then moved on.

It's also very worth it.
