Just found out that my Grandfather isn't expected to live for much longer. He's had Alzheimer's for the past couple of years and has been getting worse and worse, but over the past few days has recently developed a bad case of pneumonia and earlier today the doctor's told my father that they didn't expect him to make it through the night.
It's sad...not because I was close to my PaPa (what I called him) or anything...but for two other reasons: it is my last grandparent after losing my Mom's mother earlier this year and I just feel bad for my father because of what he has had to go through taking care of his father. It's just...not what I was expecting to hear when my dad called me. I was expecting him to ask if I was watching the C's, or the Sox, or how classes were going...but right when he said "Hello" is just knew that something was wrong.
I've never seen my father sad, to be honest, and since I admire him and look up to him with every ounce of my body...talking to him in this condition and, when the funeral happens, seeing him like this is going to be incredibly, incredibly hard.
