Until someone shows me evidence to the contrary, I will always believe that your sexual preference is genetic - it's how you are wired. I remember being a kid and liking to look at my dad's Playboy's that I found under his bed...and having my mom take them away from me, which caused me to cry. Looking at what was in them just felt natural. I had crushes on girls starting when I was in 2nd grade. I didn't know if that was normal or abnormal back then. Just what I felt. Anyway, that all being said, I wouldn't have a problem with my child "hitting from a different side of the plate" than I do. That's just how they were programmed. I'd feel bad for them though because of how society looks upon it. Hopefully by that point (I don't have kids and am nowhere close to having any) our society will be a little more accepting about it. Tolerance seems to be better than when I was high school age.

pretty much sums it up. I havent read this thread all the way through so im sure you have some theory you can type a paragraph about or have already typed a paragraph about...but I believe we were all given free will to make a choice.i made mine....theres really nothing else to say about it, like Pared said, im not interested in a back and forth.

It's not that you're not born with liking one or the other, but I just don't think it's something genetic... like something in your brain, or your DNA structure, or your genes, or whatever. Like I said, I think it's the same as when you're born with liking apple juice and not liking orange juice. Aren't genetics hereditary? What about gay people who have no previous gay people in their family line? Maybe you're born with it, but I don't think it's genetic at all.
And if it IS genetic, then how are some so ridiculously flamboyant and others aren't?Comment

Not everything is hereditary, that's why kids whose parents have blue eyes can have brown eyes or can have blonde hair when their parents are brunettes.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

It's probably the same reason why some people are more manly and have more testostrone and some women are more girly and some are more manly. There's probably degrees to it.Comment

Re: Parental Question: Let's Try and Keep This 100% Mature Please
I thought that was hereditary, though. It's that whole dominant/recessive thing. Like, genetically for eyes, you could have BB (brown eyes), Bb (brown eyes), or bb (blue eyes). Say two Bb (brown-eyed) parents had a kid, there's a 25% chance they have a bb (blue-eyed) kid, and so on.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

So what about bisexuals? Did their genes split in half or something?Comment

Re: Parental Question: Let's Try and Keep This 100% Mature Please
I'm not an expert or anything remotely close, but my guess would be that it is just a different type of DNA where you have the genes/DNA to be attracted to both men and women. Like at some point you were supposed to go one way or the other but the gene mutated or something and both were intact.Comment

Hell no...
As if the guy would need any more reasons to feel like an outcast than what comes with being a homosexual, the father is ashamed of himself? There's no since in it, especially since I don't think homosexuality is a choice.Comment

I'm not saying culture may have nothing to do with it, either, I'm just saying if your not born with something(which I have no clue what it is) that gives you at least a basis for the thought then I don't think all the influence in the world could make you gay. You can influence me all you want, trust me I'm not gay and I'm not changing. I'm just saying that there is no way it is as simple as a choice that one can make.Comment
