Officer Killed in the line of duty.

I felt compelled to write about this. I hate to be a debbie downer, but This kind of stuff always affects me being the son of a retired police officer. Yesterday Joshua Miktarian of the Twinsburg Ohio Police Department was killed while making a "routine" traffic stop. This happened about 5 miles up the road from where I live. For some reason I felt like I knew Officer Miktarian, I passed his house many times, and also saw him in his yard working with his Partner Bairo, a German Shepard K9 police dog. I feel like I need to do something, so I am getting ready to go get some flowers to drop off at his home.

If you are the praying type please keep Officer Miktarian's family in your prayers. He leaves behind his wife, and 3 month old daughter. God bless you officer Miktarian.

They did catch him already. He won't have a fun time in jail I'm sure.

Twinsburg Police are keeping what happened pretty tight lipped. I have heard that the murder was captured by the officers dashboard camera. The suspect was also found with one handcuff around his wrist. He was also unable to get his K9 out of the car for help.

I wish he was able to let the dog out, I know how these dogs are trained, and he would have mauled this coward to death if it was the last thing he ever did.

Just in case anyone was wondering, His K9 will be retired and given to the family.

Police Officer Joshua Miktarian was shot and killed while conducting a traffic stop on Glenwood Drive at approximately 2:00 am.

Officer Gary Gryder was struck and killed by a drunk driver while directing traffic at a construction site on the Katy Freeway. The drunk driver drove through a barricade and struck Officer Gryder and another officer without braking. The vehicle continued until striking a brick wall, where the driver was taken into custody.

Deputy Tony Diaz was shot and killed while making a traffic stop near the intersection of County Road 6 and County Road 99W at approximately 9:30 pm.

Unfortunately nothing is routine in this line of work. This is just 4 of the 21 officers who have been killed by gunfire this year. Rest in peace brothers!

Here is an update in case anyone wanted to know. The Piece of trash Ashford Thompson plead not guilty, and claimed he shot Officer Miktarian in self defense. The prosecutor called this "laughable".

Officer Miktarian was shot 4 times in the head, with Thompson's own gun. Officer Miktarian was unable to draw his weapon. Self defense my ***.

I just don't get the thought process in shooting a police officer.

I'm sure he had a warrant out and was trying to evade that, but unless it's for first degree murder, how is whatever he could have had out worse than first degree murder of a ****ing police officer? I assume Ohio is a DP state, and this guy surely earned that and possibly even a little more.
