That's OK... Even if the lottery was $100 million, you'd still get around $50 million after taxes if you did the lump sum thing... Only a certified idiot would find a way to blow $50 mil and not have anything left over.Comment

I was just under the impression that I would end up with $100 million after all was said & done, and then I approached it from thereComment

Set my family up to live as comfortable as possible. (This includes myself) Then I would call Lenny Dykstra & get some advice on investing. This guys is simply amazing....

I think the thought behind DC's statement was that if you had money like that, you wouldn't necessarily need to go to college... Most of us went to college because we wanted decent jobs upon finishing... If you had a hundred million, you wouldn't necessarily be wanting a "job". At least I wouldn't.Comment

I could understand wanting to do something you really enjoy like majoring in history or mythology or something, but a serious degree or graduate school seems kind of silly and unrealistic.Comment

Wouldn't the stress be much less because you wouldn't be depending on it for your future, and you wouldn't have to worry about paying the loans back? That seems like it'd make it much easier to deal with, because if you flunk out, or decide it's not for you, you still have all that money. If it's a goal you set for yourself, why not try for it when you can?Comment

I just don't see what's funny about it, that's all. Oh well, back to talking about how people will spend money we'll never see.Comment

I think the people saying they'd go to law or medical school are funny. The stress of going to those schools and doing those professions just seems pointless since you'd essentially be doing it for fun.
