That sucks man I hate to hear it. Don't give up on love though. Just when you least expect it, someone else you fall even more in love with might come along.

Oh and single life these days isn't bad. You'll enjoy it until you meet that one woman.

I've heard this phrase many times and I've passed it on many times.

"Better to be single and happy than to be married and miserable."

It happened for a reason. Don't force it if it's not what's going to happen. Life will heal wounds seriously. It always does if you allow it.

A couple, who are friends of my sister's here in Cincinnati, had to do something similar. He decided he wanted to go to grad school in Texas. She just got back on the right track with her career here in town and didn't want to move. They weren't engaged but are breaking up. Still love each other but it's been hard for them to be around one another. They just had a going away party for him this past Saturday at my sister's house. He takes off next month.

You seem like a nice guy CB. I'm sure you won't have a hard time finding another woman (granted you choose to) soon.

I know replacing the old flame will be hard, but time heals all wounds. Also, just keep in mind that just because you are not together now that you won't ever be back together in the future.

Sometimes taking a break only makes the parties involved appreciate each other more and then realize what they gave up.

Hang in there man. If worse comes to worse I'll send a greyhound your way and let you crash on my sofa so we can drink cheap liquor and go jack rabbit hunting!

Stinks, I know. But know that one of many factors in a successful marriage is 2 people willing to work for a common goal. Its obvious you 2 have different ones, or else one would have been willing to acquiesce. One party would have been resentful. So this really is for the best, sounds like.

I know this probably won't cover the wounds right now. But one good thing that come from this is that single women are more attracted to guys once engaged. They know they aren't afraid to commit.

Anything I say won't make you feel better or less sad, but it will get better. For now just concentrate on doing things you enjoy and have fun with, make yourself happy without someone if possible. Then you can find one of the many other women out there for you. Keep your head up bro!
