LOL. They pretty much do man.
You learn over the years on when it's cool to post something and when it's not to.
It can get aggravating at times, but you learn to deal with certain things.Comment

So "you learn over the years", but there are always new people and there will always be "stupid" posters, and I'm sure that there were some 5-6 years ago too. Maybe less of them because there were less users registered here, but I'm sure that they existed then as they do now.My Specs:

Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
One thing that came to mind when thinking why there are so many useless posts now rather than before is, I believe, due to OS's increasing popularity. It was more "private" back then when there weren't as many registered users. Now that it has become the go-to site for Sports Gaming (which is not a bad thing), the users are flowing in, especially during the NCAA/Madden releases.
The funny thing I noticed though, is when I first started posting here @ OS, I was one of those "stupid" posters. I highly doubt I'm the only one, but over the years it's as though I got a better understanding of the site, and learned how to communicate with others rather than trying to raise my post count by replying, "I agree", in every other post. So as OS keeps growing, there will always be users like myself, posting useless material. What can the site do though? You can't not allow users to register; nor can you just ban "useless" users.Comment

Dude, it's privately owned.
I can't walk into a privately owned bar and start drinking for free.
I can't walk into a house and sleep in someone else's bed.
I sure as hell can't tell someone what to do on their own site.

I've gotta agree with OSUFan here. A lot of us OSers put down some cash because OS is that awesome. It should be held to a higher standard.Comment

Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
I think that's probably because we have EA staff posting here now. If you look at the majority of threads like people are referring to you will see that they are almost all started with either "HEY OMT!" or "IAN PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE" or maybe even a "WTF OMT OMG?" heading.I post the frog

Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
Yeah there are a lot of those threads. Maybe a mod could sticky and lock a topic that says no threads with questions for the devs or they'll receive an infraction. No reason to just ban them for it, but it could lessen those threads.I think that's probably because we have EA staff posting here now. Maybe dev interaction should be limited to donated members; maybe entire forums where only donated members can post. Wouldn't solve everything, as you'd still get 13-year-old's with money to burn donating (not to mention the obvious issue here with quality posters who haven't donated), but it would make Steve more money (in theory) and maybe keep things a bit more civilized. Just a thought.
Otherwise, I agree with the general notion that OS hasn't looked this bad since I joined.I am become death

Guys, don't get me wrong, I'm supporting the regulations and I DO think that people should obey the rules here. However, I'm sure that if you ask all members here if they had read the rules before they started posting - only a small percentage of them will answer "yes". I admit I'm not one of those who would reply "yes".My Specs:

i think a donator only forum is a good idea, to be honest quality posters who havent donated are very few and far between. Definitely more bad posters who have than good ones who havent. Its just impossible to have reasonable discussions about a game now with noobs tarding up the thread, much worse than in years past imo.Maybe dev interaction should be limited to donated members; maybe entire forums where only donated members can post. Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
I don't think so. Then people would donate on their first day to get to do that. I say that we get a rep system and have different users vote on how "quality" a user is and if they score high enough they get access.i think a donator only forum is a good idea, to be honest quality posters who havent donated are very few and far between.
