Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
So would it be a separate sub forum , or would each forum (Madden, NCAA etc) have their own "donator only" portion? If its just one "donator only" forum, i dont see it being much different than OS Neighborhood or Steve's forum.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

the point is that all the games could be discussed in one place without ****** threads popping up left and right, along with other stuffComment

Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
So we'd have a donator forum, with sub forums for the different games, right? That would make sense, and then we can just have regular off-topic discussion in the main forum. Like the donator's lounge lol.Villanova Class of 2012

Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
I think you guys are getting a little carried away here. That would be absolute hell to set up and a bear to keep maintained.
No, I'm talking one subforum where only OS Supporters can read and post. You could use that forum to talk about individual games, movies, what you ate for breakfast that day, whatever.
Would it be a lot like the OS Neighborhood? Yes, but with gaming talk added in. It would eliminate the need to post in the individual game forums in most cases because you'd have a lot more intelligent conversation within the Supporters Only subforum.
And DC...you only don't see the point because you, yourself haven't donated.

Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
Wait, are you serious? Yes, a majority of people who don't have a lot of posts are people who join the forum to complain about Madden or NCAA, or just don't contribute anything to the forum, but to ignore everyone under a certain number of posts? That seems kind of ridiculous to me. How do you know that someone who just joined won't have anything to contribute to the discussion? I know that this would be an optional feature, but to blanket every single poster into a "they will never contribute anything useful into a conversation until they reach X number of posts" group seems harsh and elitist to me. Also, not everyone who has 1000 posts posts something awesome every time. Just my 2 cents.Comment

And that's why the referal system would be a good idea. Making the Supporters only forum not be any less quality but still getting rid of the 1 post wonders.Wait, are you serious? Cleaning out 95% of the crap is well worth missing 5% of good stuff, and the new posters who end up having value are the ones who will keep posting anyway.Comment

Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
that has nothing to do with the referral system, why do you bring it up in every post
20 bucks is worth it to a whole bunch of people not having to filter through the trash to find posts, if thats important to you than youll donate as well.Comment

Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
Why keep posting if a bunch of people who feel your posts are worthless don't read them when you first join? I know that if i were to join and found out about this "Ignore until user hits X amount of posts" feature, I wouldn't feel wanted at this place at all and just look for a different forum that isn't as elitist. It just doesn't seem right to me that'd you'd ignore a potentially good poster because of the actions of other bad ones.
To me, what you're suggesting is like ignoring a new co-worker at work because they haven't been around as long so to you, they don't have that good of ideas or aren't going to contribute anything to the workplace. Would you honestly do that to someone?
If you feel that people are posting a bunch of crap in certain forums than just don't go in them to begin with. Just because they don't have as many posts as you doesn't mean they're completely worthless.Comment

Re: What in the world is going on here at OS....
If, and this is a HUGE if, there was ever a donator forum, just donating to get in would get you ONE chance. You screw up on a forum designated for donators, and you are done. No cell. Just out of the forum itself.
You know, when I put it out that way, I don't mind the idea as much.Comment
