Re: "The devil is here boy, the devil himself"
How do you define enjoying putting one to death? I get a sense of enjoyment out of one being put to death because of the fact that in my eyes, justice is done.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

So its cool to put him to death, but we shouldn't be happy about it? Should we be sad? I certainly will not be. If you are, then you might be the one with the problem my friend.Comment

Re: "The devil is here boy, the devil himself"
It's many things, but cool is not one of them.
That's your call. The whole thing is a tragedy from beginning to end. The fact that he chose to do those things, the fact that those people have to go through this, and how now the best we can possibly come up with, the solution, is to kill someone. It's a bad day for humanity, and that's always saddening.
I can't enjoy any part of it.
When we acknowledge something as an unfortunate and regretful action, we always give it the gravitas necessary, and make an attempt to preserve humanity. If you enjoy executions, then your humanity is at risk.Comment

Yeah man, I love them. I try to attend them whenever I can. I was all set to go to one tonight but I had a family picnic I had to go to. Damn family picnics.Comment

Nobody enjoys executions...but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be used.
Executions are multiple things including justice and a deterant, but it certainly isn't there for enjoyment.Too Old To Game Club

Re: "The devil is here boy, the devil himself"
When has it been proven that the only people who commit violent crimes were uneducated?I'm not willing to debate previously proven principles. If we have a discussion of physics, and someone wants to debate gravity, I won't entertain it. Nor will I go out and start rephrasing the Principia Mathematica. Gravity and its mathematics has to be disproved, not proven.
The same applies for cyclical violence patterns, the association with education(again, not to be confused with academics) and violence and the social deficiencies in our culture. These are all well known and well proven ideas that have to be disproved before I start paraphrasing smarter people's established work.
If that fact has been proven time & time again in different fields of study it should be no problem for "well-read" person such as yourself to provide one article, one study that supports your theory.-August 17, 1960Originally posted by VP Richard M. Can I ask you something, though I've been trying but you keep ignoring them. Why can't you just answer a question without trying to put yourself on a pedestal and look down on everyone as you answer? It's many things, but cool is not one of them.

You act as though those who find justice in an execution are savages or something. You act as though because someone who extracts revenge is no better than the criminal they are attacking. You act as though, unless we view things from your viewpoint then we are somehow the reason for the decline in humanity.
Well I got news for you. I am glad that we use the death penalty and yes I find enjoyment/relief in the fact that justice is served in the execution someone, who has wronged humanity in such a way that the only reasonable punishment is death. And in a case like this, if someone is too afraid to "pull the switch", well then just let me know and I'll be wherever, whenever, and I'll have no trouble pulling the switch. In fact, I might just turn it off and on a couple of times for my amusement and to watch the sorry bastard suffer. And yes, if the SOB from this story was in front of me, you bet your last dollar that I would whip his sorry *** from here to eternity. And yes, if I see someone commiting a wrong to someone and I can reasonably help, then I am going to do so. And if that calls for me to act with violence, well then partner, its going to happen.
So quit hiding behind all these statistics, phrases, long drawn out posts, words such as "sadistic" and get off your high horse and see the world for what it really is. Its a violent world unfortunately and sometimes you have to fight fire with fire to protect yourself or someone you love.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

It's a mixture of that and the fact that, after all of this back-and-forth arguments about right and wrong and this and that...your solution, so elegantly put is: "I hope they kill him."
All it needed was your patented smiley.Comment

Re: "The devil is here boy, the devil himself"
Got you.
I don't really believe in the death penalty, but I am father of 2 boys. And if anybody did this to my kids. I would kill them. This guy is very evil, but I really believe if he had a terrible childhood I can see why they turn out the way the do. Doesn't give him any right to this, but it is reality.
