Heh, Geraldo has done that kind of "behind the bushes" reporting since the '70s so that's nothing new for him.

It's amazing what these guys have to do to ensure safety sometimes.

Really? I thought I heard Pensacola was getting a good amount of tornadoes and the such.

Glad to hear that isn't the case.

It's great to see the levees are holding up so far. At this point, it looks like New Orleans dodged a bullet and avoided being hit hard.

It's obvious that local, state, and national governments and their agencies learned some valuable lessons from Katrina. The evacuation and preparation for this storm was well done.

Well, this is one time that no news is great news. Gustav appears to be dying quickly and is skirting the coast. Hopefully, there will be minimal damage after all of the dire predictions. The funny thing is that all the cable news networks are grasping for news and showing downed trees like it was Katrina all over again. I'm just glad that it appears to have been "prepare for the worst, and hope for the best." The residents of the Gulf Coast really didn't need another Katrina. Still praying that when the clouds all pass, that it'll have been a close call.....

Yep it was done well. Problem is now to keep the people from turning back to the thinking that everything will be fine when the next storm comes.

It is ridiculous how the news stations keep on showing those walls with the water coming over the edge. They fail to mention that they are designed to do that! They are implying that the walls are near to failing, when in reality they are doing what they are designed to do.

Hey, they've got hype it up somehow! They did spend all of that money to have the storm not give the car-crash gawking effect. Ratings,ratings,ratings....

I've been watching CNN and MSNBC and they have mentioned several times that the walls are working as designed, "overtopping" is okay and helps release pressure on the walls, etc.

There isn't much else to show as Gustav hasn't been a huge rain producer for NOLA and the only real concern right now is how the levee walls are holding up.

Most of the cable news networks are awful. It's not just exclusive to Fox.

New Orleans is still looking pretty good. The manager of the Superdome said his gut feeling is the Saints will be playing there on Sunday.
