Howard Stern is an idiot - but I don't have a problem with this at all.

It's sex. Some people view it as some holy sacred thing never to be toyed with, and others view it as a fun activity. If she wants to make some money, and someone wants to pay her for it - then good for them. I've got no problem with it. Nothing I'd pay for, but I see no reason someone else who wants it shouldn't be able to get it.

Prostitution being illegal is quite a moronic and stupid law. I don't agree with it one bit.

As for the legal stuff - I do know there are certain places that legally sell sex. So this must somehow fall into that territory. I just don't know exactly where, how, or why.

I also don't agree with her being called a whore by people here. You post a picture of some girl and guys start drooling and posting about how they'd "hit that", but then some girl wants to make a few bucks off exactly you type of guys and she's suddenly a whore...

I agree with you. I think that sex is too much of a taboo in North America. If you look at Europe which has far less restrictions you'll find that they are still moral people but are far more forgiving of things like this. As long as you stick red light districts in places where kids can't get access then it should be fine and dandy IMO.

It's because illegal prostitution = rape, violence, STD's, pimps, and other crap.

They need to set a standard and make it legal so that these women can have some real protection. It would make it safer, they could offer standardized testing for diseases and other things, and basically make the whole thing a lot safer and cleaner.

But regardless, the "girlfriend experience" probably represents somewhere around .0001% of prostitution.

Personally, I'm not bent out of shape over prostitution; people just tend to have no idea about it. It's not as simple as other service industries.

Your approach to prostitution would be like one of our two 16 year olds coming on and saying "well, Zimbabwe is poor because they have no money and no jobs, but if they got jobs, they'd have money. So all Zimbabwe has to do to get rich is make jobs!" Obviously it doesn't work like that. Prostitution is a horrible thing.

Exactly. Lazy people just read the "shocking" title of the link and assumed it was some Stern bit. These are also the same people who don't listen to the show and claim to hate it. Howard Stern is brilliant and is the best conversationalist in the world. The rest of supporting cast is great as well (love Artie, Sal and Richard). There are the people who view Howard Stern from the outside in (think he is a "shock jock") and than their are people who actually listen and understand the majority of the show isn't bits, but it is the brilliant dynamic between Stern and his coworkers. The show is enormously deep, and he continues to set the bar for radio entertainment.
