I don't know if I'd call making millions of dollars "wasting" ones intelligence. I mean if the guy found a formula that worked great for him, one that millions of people couldn't and can't get enough of and used it to his advantage to become wealthy, I think he'd be an idiot not to do have done so. It may not do good the way someone finding a cure to a disease would do, but if it entertains millions of people on a daily basis and helps them go about their life with a little more joy, then I'd argue that he's doing some good.
As far as degrading women and the mentally challenged, I think it's something the majority of us have done at one time or another, maybe not publicly, but it doesn't make it any more right or wrong. He just has the gall not to care.Comment

While he does degrade them on his show for the sake of comedy, he has giving quite a few of them a platform and to make money they would have never seen. For the people who think all he does is disrespect women and make fun of people who are handicap, you’re just not paying attention. <O></O>

Look man, maximizing a talent you're born with (which has nothing to do with your intelligence) does not make you a genius.
Making money doesn't make you a better person than 99% of the population
For all of his intellect he should've solved the oil problems we have, the unemployment issues, maybe even carried on Einsteins work.
From this day and as back as far as I can remember, Howard Stern has done jack for human kind.

Just because you are making money hand over fist doesn't mean what you are doing has any substance or validity. I could list a ton of things people do to make money, but I don't respect them for it or wouldn't do it myself.
Your second statement is just ridiculous, think about it man. You agree he degrades them for the sake of comedy, need I say more. The guy has enough money to help these people out without having to do this crap to them.

Every Howard Stern topic always becomes an attack/defend him sort of thing. All I know is that he is by far one of the top five names in radio history and has made an impact on society. He has always pushed the envelope and for our country, which still needs to loosen up from time to time, that's a good thing.
What kills me is that MOST people who attack him just base their assault on what they know from the E! show and that was literally 20 minutes of a four hour show. Stern's show is a lot more than just boobs and the ********.
The very title of this thread is part of how Howard is viewed. He was INTERVIEWING the girl...that's it. Which means he has as much to do with this as Leno does the new Brad Pitt movie. Honestly, I'd rather hear this chick rattle on about her stupid decision than how Pitt thinks his new movie is funny/good/whatever.
